Good area, good stay

Staff was very welcoming, and the check-in chocolate cookie was delicious. My toilet did not flush at first, but the front desk was very helpful in getting someone to come fix it within 10-15 minutes.

A Great Hotel

This has now become our "go to" hotel whenever we are travelling north. It is about mid way between where we are on Long Island and where our daughters live in New Paltz. The rooms are spacious and sturdy, clean and comfortable. The staff is great and the lobby has that old, elegant feel to it all too lacking in many hotels today. There are tons of things to do in the surrounding area, and I highly recommend a 10 minute drive south into adjacent Dobbs Ferry to try out the pizzas at "The Parlor"--the place is AWESOME.

Hotel not as fancy as it wants to be...

This hotel was ok...it reminded me of other hotels that try to be fancier than they really are. Service was fair. Condition of the hotel was fair. It was clearly an old hotel. Room temperature was difficult to control - one pipe system. Room service was good and food was decent for a hotel. I would stay here again, but only because there are few other hotels in the area.

Very Very Disappointing!!!!

We stayed at the Doubletree overnight while we were in town. We were very dissappointed by our room. The lobby matched the pics online, however, the pics of the rooms and bathroom don't come even close!!! The rooms are very outdated. When we brought that to the attention of the staff, we were told that the hotel is 50 years old. The bed was very soft. We were put in a handicap room when we didn't request that! Normally, I wouldn't care, but, they put some huge thing on the toilet seat that made using the bathroom very awkward!! Oh, the warm cookies that we heard about were nice but they have nuts in them, so my husband couldn't have one!! I think the hotel pics should match the experience and the staff should try and be a little more accomodating when told that their guests were unhappy! I'm just happy that we only were there overnight! Never again!!!

Convenient and pleasant in Westchester

Pros: Location, comfort, free parking and attractive lobby.
Cons: Room furniture looks a little tired, but I didn't really care--it was a work trip and it served my needs fine.
Location: Have been here before on vacation and it's close to lots of places of interest and easy enough to get to the train station.
Check in was better than average, room was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but perfect for my one-person stay. A billing problem occurred showing an extra amount over what I had approved at check-out, but is in the process of being resolved to my satisfaction. The only thing that I did not like was the attitude (or rather feeling of invisibility and annoyance on the part of one of the waitress/hostesses in the restaurant after a long and tiring work day. The other staff were far more pleasant.

The staff was rude and unpleasant. We were looked down upon the fact that we did not want to use our credit card for the deposit. We dealt with "Dolly" upon check out and had to argue because we did leave a cash deposit and requested it back. Would never stay there again.
