A cozy early Spring experience

Posted Mar 30, 2014
Pros: Charming. Beautiful fireplaces in lobby and restaurant. All staff were excellent.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The city of Whitefish has many boutique shops and an abundance of restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
Thought we would chance an early Sprint trip to nearby Glacier National Park but Mother Nature had other plans for us. A light snow was falling upon arrival and we had traveled into town with all of the electrical power out everywhere. Upon arrival the power was also out at the hotel. It was mid afternoon so at least we were not in darkness. The check-in was a problem because the computer system was obviously down with no power. They offered to assist us to our room, but we chose to just sit in the massive lobby in front of one of two huge fireplaces. Within fifteen minutes the power came back on. We enjoyed a great dinner in the lodge dining room as the snow continued go fall. The room was fantastic and the staff everywhere was extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay was wonderful.

Our go-to for Whitefish.

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Excellent rates and super comfy beds in a spacious room.
Cons: Hot tubs need a more regular cleaning schedule.
Location: It's hard to beat Whitefish for resort skiing, and the restaurants in downtown are all amazing.
More regular hot tub maintenance is needed. Everything else about this place is great.

A nice hotel, great price, ideal location

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Location and atmosphere.
Cons: Need better sound proofing. Noise from the hall and upstairs is annoying.
Location: Whitefish has nice shops and restaurants downtown. Five minutes by free shuttle. Located in middle of golf course.
This is an older hotel, but well cared for. Not glamorous but has a nice relaxed ski resort feel. The rooms are a bit noisy, wood frame construction makes for squeaky floors. Ask to be on the 2nd floor to avoid this. The rooms are recently updated and very clean. The restaurant, bar and lobby have great big, stone, wood-burning fireplaces. The hotel sits in the middle of the golf course where you can cross country ski. Free shuttle service to Whitefish Mountain and downtown are very convenient. The food is very good and you can walk across the street to the Whitefish golf course restaurant. We stayed here six days and enjoyed it. Very nice staff and beautiful location.

Great for kids and younger adults

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Staff is friendly and outgoing, always available to assist.
Cons: Consider placing families and large groups on one side of the hotel and couples on the other side to help reduce the overall noise.
Location: Great skiing (winter), fantastic restaurants and fun little shops
On the up side.....great staff and nice hotel. Room rates and restaurant prices are very reasonable. The hotel offers transportations to and from the ski resort and town. A big plus if you don't want to drive. Rooms were basic but the beds very comfortable. On the down side.....walls and floors far too thin. Even thought the hotel has a zero noise policy after 11pm, you can still hear everything going on day and night. From the young kids in the hallways playing Jr. Hockey, to those returning back from the bars and pubs at 2am. The indoor pool was good size although a murky green color made you think twice about hopping in. The outdoor Jacuzzi was always at the right temperature but the amount of foaming bubbles on top of the water made you wonder who had been in before you. If I where to stay there again, I would request a 3rd floor room and not book it during a US/Canadian Holiday. Too many loud people.

Year-round resort community

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: A lodge that reflects the mountain/chalets is decorated with local wildlife and historical photos.
Location: Whitefish is a great ski destination...great snow and uncrowded slopes. In summer Glacier Natl Park offers hikes for every ability.
Staff make us feel like family...warm and friendly, just what one would expect in Montana! They are knowledgeable about all recreational activities in the area and can recommend the best dining establishments in town.
