Nice for passive relaxationPosted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Good location, nice spa, clean and quiet, reasonable value for money but nothing outstanding for a five star hotel. I would recommend it to couples
Cons: stuff could be better
It is quite stupid to ask me about my experience in this hotel in details

Nice hotel at a good locationPosted May 24, 2014
It's really nice hotel and looks a bit traditional or historic. But then it's very expensive, daily Internet is 19 euro which is about $26 for daily Internet....hmm

Ignominiously frozen in the 90'sPosted Sep 14, 2012
Pros: Spa on the top floor with thermal waters
Cons: Furnace room with no air con making it impossible to sleep
Location: Spectacular location - their saving grace.
Offered a nice room overlooking the Casino, but warned we would need to keep window open since there was no aircon. With only 18C overnight we thought that would be fine. But oh my God, it was a furnace overnight and too loud to sleep with windows wide open. At 2:30am we tried to move rooms and were told this was impossible. There was also no fan available, which is incredible - why can't a 5star hotel have enough fans for rooms with no air con. The rooms are dreadfully old fashioned. Not at all 5 star. Luxury from the 90's, they are way way off the mark now compared with our 5 star hotels in Geneva. Pillows are frankly unforgivable. They are feather jokes that just disappear into nothingness when laid upon. The fact that there is no tread mill in the gym is similarly an utter joke. They claim it makes too much noise for rooms beneath... OMG. I get the sense this has become a period drama set, with wonderful staff suffering the Ignominy of being frozen in a 90's world (when Germany was booming). With no investment to upgrade the hotel rooms and some very bad management choices about key features, I am sad to see our honeymoon hotel decline. Oh, and my wife also found the breakfast greasy and poor value.
