Perfect hotel to visit a parent's W&M student

Posted Jan 23, 2015
We have stayed at this hotel several times. For the price, it offers everything that we need. It is very accessible to the William & Mary College campus and within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg. We would recommend the hotel to any parent who wants to spend the weekend reconnecting with her/his college-aged child.

Nice staff and location

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Staff, location
Cons: TV, breakfast
Location: close to Colonial Willaimsburg
Good for a night stay in Williamsburg. The TV is quite old and breakfast could be better.

Old and rundown

Posted Jan 1, 2015
The location is great, but the whole place needs a lot of work. The bathroom was a disaster - running toilet, dripping shower, worn-out tub, cramped. The room wasn't bad, but it just wasn't very comfortable.

Was close to downtown colonial Williamsburg. Close to stores and restaurants. Will try to reserve days inn hotel only anytime I go on vacation.

If you care about your health don't stay here !!!!

Posted Dec 28, 2014
Pros: Absolutely nothing !!!!
Cons: Everything.
Location: Close to Colonial Williamsburg with the same living conditions as the 18th century
Ten minutes after getting in the room my daughter found a live cockroach crawling on the floor near her bed and freaked out. I killed it and took it to the desk clerk whose only reaction was that happens some times (this was in the dead of winter).Since the hotel had required prepayment for the room thru Expedia and it was the weekend before Christmas I demanded a different room and was moved nine doors down. After very closely checking this room for cockroaches and finding only lots of dust ,dirt, and cobwebs we turned up the antique heating system to warm up the cold room. It took nearly 6 hours until the middle of the night to heat up the room and then it took the rest of the night to carefully adjust the touchy controls to get the room from being either too hot or too cold. We stayed the 3 nights we had booked only because we had prepaid and had driven 350 miles to a vacation we had planned for months. In those 3 days the cleaning crew only made the beds the room and didn't clean anything else in the room we could see. There was still cobwebs on the curtains and lamps, candy stuck to the carpet, and some stickers off something someone who stayed in the room at sometime in the past had suck to the wall at eye level near the bathroom (which could have easily been pealed off by the cleaners if they had done their job). I will never ever stay at a Days Inn hotel again in my life and we tell others to also avoid this chain of substandard motels !!!

Affordable Hotel

Posted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: The price and location.
Cons: The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. The chain lock to the door that leads into the next room was broken. Cob webs in the lights.
Location: Good location. Near a shopping center and 3-4 miles from the Outlet Center.
Considering it was an older hotel, the room was OK and it was affordable. The staff was very friendly.

Good rate in Williamsburg

Very great rate ($37!!) and included continental breakfast in addition to juices, yogurt, and homemade waffles. For a basic room near shopping, restaurants, and Colonial Williamsburg it is a deal!

Five rooms booked for conference at W & M College

One smelly room out of four. Good responsive staff. Given the cheap price and convenient to William and Mary location, this was good deal.

Inexpensive option for backpackers/bargain hunters

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Pros: If you want to see colonial Williamsburg on a tight budget and be within walking distance this is the ideal place to stay!
Cons: Limiting smoking areas to outside, not in the covered veranda where everyone has to walk to get breakfast or check out.
Location: Only 8 blocks from Colonial Williamsburg, even closer to College of William and Mary, beautiful historic homes and churches in the neighborhood.
I arrived early by train and asked for my room to be ready in an hour and they were very accommodating and even carried my bag up the stairs when I arrived. The manager came himself to plug in my tv cable when I said it was missing and the cleaning staff was efficient and never moved my things or disturbed me whe I was in the room. Breakfast was both cold and hot and had healthy choices and was elf serve in a clean comfortable dining area. I left early and came back late and was never asked where I was or troubled by locked doors or unsafe environs as there was always someone at the desk. At night the hotel was quiet and well heated, the bedclothes new and not overly perfumed or synthetic, and I slept well. The bathroom had old fixtures but was clean and well-lit, and plenty of hot water.
