Better than expected

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: The comfortable bed and location. There's a pool but we did not have time to enjoy it.
Cons: More breakfast options and brighter lights in the bathrooms
Location: There are a ton of great restaurants (try Red Hot & Blues BBQ), mini-golf, shopping and outlet malls; very close to Water Country and Williamsburg
We stayed in a suite for one night after spending a long day at Water Country, USA. The sheets/bed was very comfortable; it was helpful to have two bathrooms with two teenagers; the area was quiet and our dinner at a restaurant down the street was amazing. The name of the hotel and the picture had me a little worried, but it was much nicer than we had expected. The staff was pleasant, the breakfast was OK, but there are a lot of pancake houses nearby for those who want more than the basic hotel breakfast.

Amazing price for area

Posted Jul 14, 2014
For the area the price was great. I was expecting it to be like other cheap motels I've stayed at. First thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the lobby, and the manager (Vinny) I believe, was very nice. Was able to accommodate us by getting us side by side rooms. When we got to the rooms they were very clean, and even though there was a slight oder in the room, it was nothing compared to other places I've stayed. A little fabreeze took care of it with no problem. Another good thing is that the beds were actually clean, and I had no problem falling asleep. The only thing I would suggest is some upkeep in the bathrooms. Pretty clean, but the cabinet door looked like it was about to fall off. Once again still better than other cheap places I've stayed at. And to end this the breakfast was same as other places that offer it, and the dinning facility was large and clean. And the pool was pretty well maintained. I would definitely stay again, thanks.

You get what you pay for

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: The only positive thing about this hotel was the beds were comfortable & it was quiet...but that was probably because there weren't many guests.
Cons: Clean!!! Update facilities & train staff to be hospitable to your guests. Stop the security guard during breakfast!!!
Location: Bypass Rd., Williamsburg, VA Tons of things to do in town....historic area, Busch Gardens, outlets, pottery, water park, etc.
Little did we know my husband's handyman skills would have to be put to use during our stay. Within the first hour in the room he reattached the bathroom fan which was falling out of the wall & quieted an annoying squeak in the door. Later that night the toilet kept running & clogged. We tried to call the front desk & they did not answer the phone so he went to the front desk & told them we needed maintenance. They gave him a plunger & told him to use it himself!! The housekeeping staff did little but pull the covers up on the beds...with all the bugs & cobwebs in the corners of the room it was very clear a good cleaning had not been done in quite a while. The next day the toilet started again so my husband went to the front desk again...the attendant simply pointed his finger toward the janitor's closet & told my husband to get the plunger again! I have never stayed in any hotel where the breakfast attendant acted like a security guard at the door to make sure no one took ANYTHING back to their room. Pity the guests that wanted to enjoy their breakfast in their own room & did not want to sit in a hot room while the attendant watched them like a hawk. My daughter is not a morning person & likes to eat a bit later in the morning...we were not allowed to take even a slice of toast back to the room for her. The management of this place definitely needs to learn something about hospitality & remember that the comfort of the guests is the reason why they exist.

Weekend Getaway

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: It is close to a lot of places.
Cons: Needs to be completely renovated.
Location: The location is close to shopping malls, attractions and tons of eateries.
The hotel was outdated. Everything was old. It even smell old. The maids need training in making beds and putting out towels. The beds looked like they had already been slept in and the towels were slapped on the rack in the bathroom.

Great for large family

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: I really liked that we had two rooms-1 whole room was a living area with couch, table and chairs, refrigerator, and microwave. Also were 2 bathrooms!
Cons: The smell - don't know if was from being a smoking room in the past or the carpet needs to be replaced.
Location: The location is very convenient to Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and the outlets.
I read the reviews and found them to be accurate and chose this hotel knowing the negatives and I would make the same decision again. For a low price, the hotel offered what we were looking for - room for 5 guests ( a suite), continental breakfast, and refrigerator. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was adequate. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The linens were clean, the towels were clean and adequate and the bathrooms were clean. The facilities were a little dated - the TVs were old, but worked. The downside - the room smelled. We needed to buy febreeze.
