“Great for Families”
Great hotel for families, not so much for couples looking to get away. The rooms are big and comfortable, very nice. However it is very loud due to a large volume of children. My boyfriend and I went for the weekend; We enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't go back unless we had kids. The restaraunt and bar are OK, but everything closes early- 10pm, so no hope of a late drink. Some areas of the hotel seemed a little run down, but overall no complaints. Also you are forced to wear a wristband, which is kind of annoying, I wish there was an option for that or a regular room key, but it's not a big deal if you're only staying a night or two.
“Nice hotel, better for younger children”
We were traveling with kids aged 15-17. Stayed at the hotel while visiting Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. The hotel is nice, and has a lot of activities. Most of the activities/attractions are geared towards kids 12 and under. The onsite restaurant was nice, but very expensive for the food offered. The rooms are nice, larger than most standard hotel rooms, and they are layed out well for families--sink is outside the bathroom to allow more than one person to "get ready" at a time. Hotel is a little farther from Busch Gardens/Williamsburg than others, but it is easy to navigate toward the attractions. Hotel is on a main road.
“You Have to Go”
I love love love this hotel. This is my 3rd visit and my son enjoys it everytime. The kids love the waterpark and never want to leave.
“Enjoyed it”
We enjoyed our three days, two night stay. It is nice that you can "check in" early, and they will call you when your room is ready. We were able to check in, get lunch, then go to the water park before we even got into the room, so it wasn't a waist of our first day of vacation!
“"Wolfin Great Time"”
This resort is perfect for families with young children. The hotel staff was very nice and the water park was staffed by energetic, nice, caring young adults who looked after and had fun with the kids. We highly recommend it and will definitely go back.
“EXPENSIVE”
Arrived to a packed parking lot. Waited in line for 45 minutes to check in. Room not yet ready at 3:15pm. Offered the ability to use water park until room ready. Lockers available in water park for $20.00. Now , really, the name resort implies that service would be stellar and the nickel and dime fees for a locker in the water park. Multi hundreds dollars a day plus for our room. One hundred dollars plus for the supper buffet for 3 adults and 1 child. Almost fifty dollars for 4 breakfast biscuits and 4 drinks. I don't expect to wait in line to check in, I don't expect to have to rent a locker at a water park resort. I don't expect the food to be New York expensive at a family resort. On the plus side, the kids had a great time. Don't think I will go back. There are more cost effective vacations that are just as enjoyable.
“Can't wait to go back!”
I would recomment this hotel to anybody that wants to have a wonderful experience with their children or loved ones.
“We love it, especially my kids and we can't wait to go back. Hoping to try this time during summer.”
It's a nice place to spend christmas celebration.
“Completely Inadequate Facilities for the size of the Water Park”
I arrived at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA on November 1, 2010 and was dismayed to see a HUGE line to check in. It took over ONE HOUR to check in. The clerk apologized for such a long line on a holiday. I don’t know where in the US that November 1st is a holiday, but apparently no one told the clerk that it wasn’t in Virginia. The room had a huge sag in the hideaway bed. The majority of problems were with the water park. The website said lockers were available for a “nominal fee.” In Great Wolf terms, that means they cost $10/day. The changing room was extremely small with three tiny benches and people had to scramble to figure out where to change. It was completely inadequate for the size of the facility. Likewise, the bathrooms were very small. For the men, there were a total of four urinals and three stalls in the entire water park facility. There was a line for the 3 showers. In the water park, it opened at 9 a.m. We arrived at 9:15 a.m. and all the tables were taken and we had to search thoroughly throughout the water park to find an unoccupied chair to put our items on. The lazy river was very small, slow, and boring. There also weren't enough inner tubes for guests. The lines for the slides were very long. It took 30+ minutes of waiting to go down a 20-second slide. Everything is very expensive. The support facilities were completely inadequate for the size of the water park. I would definitely NOT recommend it.
