“Good for what we paid”

I had read mixed reviews so I was not surprised with the hotel Our room was ok - too much furniture for the space. But our room was on the ground floor, close to the pool and breakfast area. The hotel was set back from the road in the trees which I liked. So I was satisfied with the room for the price.

“Old and needs lots of improvements. Not Impressed!”

A lock on one of the windows was broken. There were cockroaches in the bathroom. A very musty smell in room. The air conditioner didn't work well.

“Pretty Shabby”

I like to stay in hotel chains where I can expect a consistent level of cleanliness/service. I don't need a fancy hotel, but I do expect a clean and tidy room. This Quality Inn did not meet those expectations. The rooms were extremely dingy. The carpet was visibly stained/dirty, the wall paper was stained, the bathroom window was held shut with a hanger, and there was only a shower stall (no bathtub). I booked a non-smoking room, and the second we walked into the room it was very apparent that someone had been smoking in the room.

“Not impressed”

The room didn't smell clean. The bathroom had a shower stall with minimal lighting. I prefer the bathtub. i'm not sure if the ad said shower stall or not. It should be advertised. The pool was not clean the whole time I was there. It was very cloudy. It didn't seem as though it was treated or taken care of at all. The continental breakfast was ok.

Area recommendations
Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsburg. The park is great for those who like roller coasters. The water park is fabulous when it's hot. Colonial Williamsburg is very interesting. History is great.

“Pretty decent hotel for a reasonable price”

The rooms were decent and fairly spacious. The breakfast was good. The parking lot could use some work, but overall we liked the hotel and would stay there again.

“Great for the price!!!”

The pool area is a little unkept, (ie., leaves in the pool and pool area) but the water is extremely refreshing, especially on very hot days. The place is great for the money!!! Clean room, convenient location. Spent the days at Water Country and evenings at Busch Gardens. We had a great time!!! Thank you!

“Run away, far away!”

First, as I roll up to the hotel, I realize that it looks very run-down, and a little outdated but I was told I was in a renovated room. The renovations of my room were as follows: an air-conditioning unit. This "renovated" air-conditioning unit was sure to be at least 15 years old. I walked inside the room and thought it would be fine, until my mother was forced to shower with a roach above her head. Did I mention the window had no curtains? So the whole world has surely seen more of my family than needed. Next we decided to venture out for an extra set of sheets, we asked the people at the front desk, and they reluctantly said they would bring us some. On our trek back to the room, we realized that half of the parking lot was a sink hole. Joy! When we came back from Busch Gardens the next day, all power was out, except on the blessed "renovated" air-conditioning. Rooms were nasty, breakfast sucked, and you could lose your car into the earth at any moment. Needless to say, we left that day. If you value your life, and health, do yourself a favor and spend a little more money to stay elsewhere.

“Conveniently located”

The hotel was close to all of the historical sights. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the free breakfast located in a separate building.

“Not impressed”

There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. The lighting in the bedroom was not real good. Older hotel. The first room we had only had a small shower, like the kind that was built in the 60's. Our air conditioning did not work and we were able to change to a better room. This room also did not have an electrical outlet in the bathroom, but the bathroom was larger. It had a tub/shower combination. The bed was much better. The grounds were pretty. For the price, it was a good motel. However, I'd pay more and stay somewhere else if I return.

Area recommendations
It looks like the town is growing on the "loop" that is west of the town. Our location was in a central area, and it was nice, but it was an older area.

“Will consider going elsewhere the next time back to Williamsburg.”

The room was clean but the bathroom was cramped. The faucet on the bathroom sink leaked and the shower was way too small and the shower head was not centered in the stall. For the money, the room was okay but we will look elsewhere the next time we go to Williamsburg. Overall the place needs some serious attention.

Area recommendations
There are many so many new places along Rt. 60 to stay, eat and shop but stay on the Williamsburg side of Lightfoot.
When to go
We went in April when the crowds were fairly thin and the weather wasn't too hot. Summer can be extremely uncomfortable because of the humidity. Fall is also great.
