Nice resort but not all units have been renovated

Pros: Love the grounds, the fact that the units have a kitchen, dining room and living room area. Bedrooms are a good size as well as the bathrooms.
Cons: Remove the popcorn or stucco look from the walls and ceilings, paint regularly twice a year. Put in a quality shower and smaller bathtub.
Location: Love the historic Williamsburg section. So much history. There is Jamestown and Yorktown nearby. Also great outlets.
I have been to Powhatan before. I love it here but this time I was not happy with the unit I was given. Microwave oven handle was broken as well as an corner of the microwave. A piece of the banister came off. The room needs to be painted. Water leak stains on the bedroom and living room ceilings. Bathtub so high that children can never get into it. You need to climb into it. Absurd!!! The worse thing was the fact that this unit had a cheap shower and the base had a big area that had peeled off as well as of the side.

VA trip

Pros: Clean, well maintained, great customer service, affordable, within budget, homely feeling.
Cons: Better fitness facility, more options for eatery inside the resort
Location: Colonial Williamsburg, Bush Gardens, Virginia beach
The best places I ever stayed. It is like staying in with your own homely comfort with 2 bed rooms with attached bath, living room, fully equipped kitchen, balcony and so forth. 2 couples with 3 kids stayed over for 3 nights. I would love to come back here to relax.

We had a great stay at this hotel. the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Plenty of room. Close to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.

Snakes

Pros: The outside landscape and pool area.
Cons: The rooms. They need comfortable furniture. I understand historic but that place is overboard. Nothing is updated.
Location: You can go on tours, Go Karts and golf for the kids and of course Busch Gardens and Water Country is a plus. That made our trip.
Upon arrival, the scenery was beautiful. I was greeted by security with a warm welcome. The rooms are set up nicely, but really needs to be renovated. We enjoyed the pool and the food at the bar & grill. It was good start. Then later on that night the kids and I are enjoying our room. We see a visitor, which was a SNAKE!!!!!! I called security and they arrived in good timing, however when the situation was told to management, the manager was not willing to offer me or do anything about it. She was talking to me as if it was not a big deal at all and like I was bothering her. Oh and I had to wait a very long time before she would even come out to speak to me about the incident. The customer service I received from her was not good at ALL. The next day I spoke with the General manger who was nice, but again, did nothing. I also had big holes in my carpet and the carpet looked as if it had not been cleaned.

Very long check-in and poor ventilation in room

Check-in took over 30 minutes. Three concierge staffpeople did nothing at another counter while we all waited. Obviously they should be checking in people instead of doing absolutely nothing during peak hours or more check-in staff should be added. This is a repeat visit and had the same problem last time. The unit was nice enough but the ventilation was poor. I woke up very congested.

Beautiful Resort

My boyfriend and I just came back from this resort. It was the first vacation we had with my adult children. We had a fabulous time. The resort offered many things to do without going too far away. The grounds are picturesque with beautiful landscape. We were centrally located to many shops, restaurants and things to do. We would definitely come back to this resort again and also recommend it to other friends and family. Loved it!!
