The hotel was horrible.Posted Jul 1, 2015
Bad rooms. Poor service. Run down furniture. Bad bed. The Expedia pictures were not what the real rooms were like.

ImpressivePosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The set up of the rooms, makes for a wonderful break in our travels. Having 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms kitchen galley and sitting space to relax is great
Location: We were only there one night.
Even though our stay was for one night only, the staff treated us as if our stay was for a week or so.

Nice resort for a weekend getawayPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The facility was clean, beds comfortable, ceiling fans were great, and kitchen seemed stocked with appropriate utensils.
Cons: Nothing, really, other than we'd love to be able to opt out of any sales pitch in advance. We just aren't interested.
Location: Restaurants (we recommend Baker's Crust and Old Chickahominy House), La Tienda, close to Trader Joe's, and a short drive from Busch Gardens.
We stayed at the Powhatan resort just overnight, but have decided we'd like to come back. Two couples stayed together in a 2 bedroom condo and we were very pleased. The next time, we all said we'd like to bring our kids to take advantage of the amenities at the facility (pools, games, etc.) The ONLY minor downside was a slight bit of pushiness during the welcome. They want to give you a "welcome packet" that will "just take a minute" and I had to pretty clearly say that we weren't interested. We aren't ever going to buy a timeshare, so I wasn't going to waste anyone's time. In terms of the positives, the facility was clean, staff was friendly, the beds were VERY comfortable, the rooms actually had ceiling fans (which seems like a no-brainer but many places don't), and the living area was spacious. The kitchen was small, so I wouldn't recommend it for a family wanting to stay for a week if you plan to prepare a lot of meals. But, for a weekend getaway when you don't plan to cook much, it's perfect. Great location, clean, no noise, and we had a wonderful night of sleep. Definitely recommend, whether you're a couple or a family.

Spacious rooms, but in serious need of updates. Windows need washing, bathroom cleanliness is lacking.

It was awesome!Posted Jun 24, 2015
This should not be called a hotel/motel. It's like your private apartment and upscale. We stayed for 3 day's and I could of stayed a month. We loved it! It was close to everything. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the beds were soft and cozy will big fluffy pillows. We would go back anytime!

The space and comfort were great. Only had one parking space on the road for our unit which sleeps 4-6. Two cars was an issue.

We had a great time staying close to the caverns and the convenience of walking to and from the hotel.

The rooms were dated. The outside amenities were great.
