“Many other motels to choose near by”
We visited in off season. The price was right, but there were much better options in the area which we did not know about. The linens had been washed but were stained. The in-room refrigerator had been unplugged and was not cold. We had better luck keeping our items needing refrigeration in the trunk of the car.
“Cheap place to stay, we recommend it!”
Stayed here for 3 nights, found the hotel to be good in general, staff were helpful. Breakfast was ok, cereals and toast etc. It was around a 30 min walk to the central bus station, Wiillaimsburg itself is lacking a few pedestrian walkways! Local buses were really good, however no way of getting to York town or James town unless you drive, we didn't... Room was clean and well equipped- microwave, fridge and coffee machine however house keeper needs to check behind the beds more often... unfortunately found a used condom on our last day... Apart from that, our stay was brilliant! :-)
“Inexpensive Option”
This is an older motel, and it is very close to Colonial Williamsburg. The rate was very cheap, so you get what you pay for. If you are looking for an inexpensive motel and you are willing to stay in an older motel with no frills, it is a good option. I was a little weary of the area at first, but I felt better after the second night there. The comp breakfast on the first morning was a stack of white bread that could be toasted, and on the second morning I lucked out and we got the last two muffins. Because of the extremely low price we paid I was prepared to not expect much. We only stayed in the room when we got back in the night to sleep and shower. if you are looking to save money and are willing to sacrifice then this place is an option.
“fine for what you pay”
I checked in really late (almost 1100) after being at busch gardens all day. the clerk was very pleasant. The lobby is small and not much to it. we received our room keys, parking was well lite and was "under" the hotel for protection. Our room was on the second floor, the stairwell smelt like a brewery, although our room was a NON-SMOKING, the minute we walked in, it smelled like a stale ashtray. We ended up having a joining room, with neighbors already there that had at least two young children that we could hear screaming and getting yelled at by their mom for the first hour we were there. The bathroom was very small, no coffee in room, only coffee pot, their was one tiny bottle of shampoo and two bars of soap. Beds were ok, but there was only 2 pillows and they were as flat as the mattress. the next morning, I went to get the "express breakfast" and nothing was even out yet and that was 7'oclock. I went back up to the room, packed and headed out to turn my key in. Coffee was finally ready, there were donuts, bagels toast ,juice and coffee. I probably wouldnt stay there again. although for about amount we paid, it was ok.
“Was Disgusting!”
I would not recommend this hotel at all. The ice machine and snack machine were out of order for starters. The box spring had a big stain on the edge of it near your head. The mattresses were as hard as a piece of plywood. The bathroom was not clean to my standards and had a very musty smell to it. The advertise a continental breakfast...when we went down to grab some breakfast while checking out all they had was a few slices of bread and some Little Debbie cakes that had been taken out the wrapper and tried to make look presentable....not my idea of breakfast.
“Even at a discount, not worth it...”
This was the nastiest, worst room I have ever stayed in. I realize that you get what you pay for, but being that it was an Expedia special rate, I figured it couldn't be that bad. It was! First, the air conditioner wouldn't work & was missing half the buttons. When we told them, an employee came up & showed us how to get it to come on. They would not move us to another room. The room itself was dirty & the bedding as well. I found a hair on the sheets & suspect it hadn't been changed. There were also stains on the comforters. The beds were hard as a brick. I ALMOST went & slept in the car. I felt dirty just being in the room. The towels were threadbare & you could see through them. If it was a choice between staying at this hotel again or not going on a trip - I would stay home. Terrible!
“Only worth it when you get a low rate”
Good, convenient location, although not in a particularly attractive location. Room was clean, although carpet and most furniture was very dated and showing its age. We had to buy a plastic picnic table tablecloth because the table was sticky (not dirty, just sticky from repeated use) Bed mattresses were hard, linens and towels were thin and rough. The staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful, even when we wanted to change rooms. We stayed a week because we have season passes to Busch Gardens, so the room was just used for sleeping, and we chose it because we got a low rate. It was an acceptable trade-off. You will have to weigh if it is one you can make.
“Excellent Value!”
We were literally less than 10 miles from everything, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Premium Outlets, Dining, Banks, Etc. The motel was kept up very nicely and my family used the pool almost every day. We enjoyed our stay so much we left our other hotel in OBX and headed back to Travelodge King William. We did a load of laundry (off site) shopped, played and had a nice shaded parking spot below our room. I gave them all high marks especially since it was 3x cheaper to stay here than a worse motel we booked in OBX. Would definitely recommend.
“Worst stay in Williamsburg”
My family and I have been going to Busch Gardens at least once a month for the past two years. We generally stay at a different hotel each time, depending on rates and availability. Of all the places we have stayed this was the worst. First although I reserved a non-smoking room (my son has asthma) we were placed in a smoking room. We were then told there were no non-smoking rooms available. When my husband then suggested we stay with the hotel manager and his family he quickly found a non smoking room. We reserved a king size bed, but we were placed in a room with two doubles. When we finally got into the room it was a mess. There was food left in the refrigerator from who knows when and it was moldy. Most of the towels were stained. The latch on the door was missing so my husband had to push a chair under the door. The one positive...the sheets seemed clean. I will never stay here again and I advise anyone else to do the same.
“Just ok for the price”
The fridge is broken. The pillow insert was out. Good for price but not impressed.
