Not really an antique experiencePosted Apr 13, 2014
Most rooms are on a modern structure adjacent to the authentic building. A little disappointing

Sadly this place has gone downhill...Posted Dec 18, 2013
Pros: location is great.
Location: Colonial Williamsburg
We've stayed here 3 years in a row during the Christmas season. First 2 years were excellent. This year: no one to help with the luggage upon arrival; valet parking difficult; room safe locked; they struggled to fix it and ultimately had to drill through the safe for 20 minutes at 9 pm at night. In the restaurant, staff brought wrong wine and then charged us for an extra person on the buffet; didn't refill the coffee in the room coffee maker. These are just the highlights..... Past years seemed like a 5 star hotel. It was pleasant to stay there and you felt well cared for. This time, the shortcomings just kept piling one on top of the other. It was sadly amusing to watch. And it is NOT an inexpensive place to stay...

Excellent Historic Williamsburg stopPosted Aug 27, 2013
Cons: I only had a choice of a queen bed. It would be nice if they offered a king option. Also the bathrooms could use updating.
The hotel is very close to the historic Williamsburg. You can walk to everything. The restarurant is excellent. Wonderful breakfast buffet to get the day started. The hotel had parking which eliminates worries about your car. You are located so it is easy to go from there to Jamestown or Yorktown to see all the major stops.

Great location for Colonial WilliamsburgPosted Aug 9, 2013
Pros: Location, space, nice feel
Location: Could not be better placed for exploring Colonial Williamsburg and surrounding areas
Nice hotel in a great location, but service could have been better - nothing bad, just not as good as one would expect. Nice facilities throughout with a nice informal bar / games room. Swimming pools and spa very nice also.

Nice experiencePosted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: Classic, clean and friendly. My pre-teen children loved the pool area after a hot day.
Cons: I hit my toe on the 4 post bed.
Location: Close to Colonial Williamsburg made the destination pleasing that no further driving was required, allowing us to stay well into the evening.

Close to the historical sites.Posted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: The food and ambience.
Cons: The indoor pool was not available for regular use. It was reserved in the morning for the SPA users.
Location: Great location.
We only went for two days and we can't complain. Great service, good good, and great location. A little pricey, but it is worth it.

A perfect Colonial getaway!Posted May 29, 2013
Pros: The gift shop was great - the landscaping was beautiful - the staff were very nice - the room was cozy
Cons: Nothing really - but if I had to say something I would say the pillows.
Location: Location could not be better! Within walking distance of all the shops and colonial buildings. Perfect!
This hotel was absolutely perfect for our little one night get-away! The interior was immaculate - the room was immaculate and very cozy. The gift shop was wonderful, and the landscaping was lovely! Its such a great place to walk. and so close to all the shops and colonial buildings. We had a lovely carriage ride and I would definately recommend the whole scenario! My ONLY little negative (and this is purely from how I like mine) was the pillows were not very fluffy and the sheets were not very soft. They were fine...but I personally like a little more luxury. But then again - someone else may love them just the way they are. I slept fine and it all came together and made for a wonderful trip! Definately plan to go again!
