This is an old hotel, so understand where you're staying. The fixtures such as sinks and bathtubs are old. But they're in excellent condition and lend an air of old world charm to the Gennetti. The rooms continue this old-fashioned grace, making it very comfortable and feel like home.
We had a room with a charming kitchenette, complete with everything one could need.
Rooms are quiet, well insulated from the sounds of guests in other rooms. Even the heating/air system was pretty quiet, and worked better than those in other hotels I've stayed in.
My main suggestions are that there are some minor upgrades they could do to make it more senior-friendly. For instance, safety bars in the shower/bath would be very helpful. I didn't take a shower during my stay because, while absolutely charming and wonderful for a deep soak, the bathtub was too deep and had no safety bars. Couldn't risk it.
It would be nice if they had a station on each floor where one could obtain coffee supplies each morning, and purchase soda and/or snacks. We were on the 8th floor and the soda machine was in the basement. Despite what the website says, they do not clean rooms daily. You're one your own. So after you enjoy your coffee the first morning, you're out of luck.
Also, not a big fan of the extremely long walk from the parking lot to the lobby.
Overall, this is a lovely, old-world style hotel offering a homey, comfortable stay. Incredible breakfast, wonderful staff.
