Good but bad customer service
We love this hotel, however I give it a low review because we had a technical error booking the hotel and tried to immediately cancel but they wouldn’t let us. So we were charged twice for one stay. So disappointing as we do love this hotel.

Manager and clerks on duty always very attentive to our requests. Wish actual "soap" and extra towels would be provided in advance so we don't have to ask. Didn't like that in this particular room there was no light over the alcove where the refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker were It was difficult to see the controls in low light.

The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely courteous. The room was comfortable, clean, and the hvac unit worked well. On the downside, the elevator is very slow and there was only the one and many guests were coming and going. Also, the breakfast has changed significantly. The cups for drinks are very small - maybe 2-4 oz. Instead of waffles, they have an automatic pancake maker, which is fine - except that they put out 2 tiny pancakes. I'd call them mico-mini pancakes because it'd take 4 of them to equal a small. I'd also suggest they have a water dispenser near the coffee area for those who want a drink, and not have to wait for the kitchen area to be open to get it.

Nice trip
Very nice and clean hotel. Happy with our room other than they skipped us cleaning one day but management took care of it themselves. Yes we would go back. Also liked the connecting restaurant

The lamps at the head of the beds did not light. The alarm clock display was not operating. I called the front desk and they sent a person to investigate. He thought it was just a need for new bulbs. Not! After several attempts to fix the switched us to a different room. I wondered why Housekeeping people didn't detect this when cleaning the room. After we switched rooms we observed there was no alarm clock in the new room. Guest services quickly got another (from our first room). Again, why wouldn't Housekeeping have reported this issue instead of allowing the situation to cause an inconvenience to a guest?

Stayed here for a stop over for a road trip. Walkable to a number of restaurants, including The Brickyard, which we gave thumbs up all around. Anyway, negatives - like others, having the Holiday Inn and HI Express right next to each other was confusing and I also tried to check in to Holiday Inn. Then later, I needed to ask for more towels and the front desk person was out. The sign said to go to the HI desk... but we couldn't find it! The main floor is kind of a maze. We had a road-facing room. There is nothing the hotel can do, but the road noise was loud at times with speeding motorcycles and loud semis. Positives - room was clean, bed was comfy, free breakfast was good, with a good variety. So for our overnight stay, was perfectly suitable and would stay here again, maybe just ask for a non-road facing room.

Negative: Confusing entrance of 2 hotels/One elevator only for the 2 hotels/Which exit on first floor???/Credit card for incidentals for what exactly?????/And mostly the poor Wifi is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!! And that is the reason I will look for other options in the future.

We actually do have separate elevators for each hotel- We're sorry that this wasn't clearly communicated at the time of check-in. As is the case for most corporate hotels, we collect a credit card for incidentals to ensure that any room charges can be covered. The authorized amount is released if no charges are made.
