Nasty hotel

Room 123 had a bad odor of what smelled like insect spray. Soon after we entered the room a roach ran up the wall be the television. Another appeared on the night stand between the twin beds. Unexceptable

Pros: Location, room amenities for the price
Location: Very close to a mall and numerous restaurants.
Hats off to the desk clerk. He was very upbeat, seemed so glad we were staying at this hotel, and ensured us that if we experienced any problems, to please let him know. This is the type of customer service I look for when checking into a hotel especially after a very, very long drive. Using the hotel's diagram, he explained exactly how to get to our room and gave us the option to change from a smoking to a non-smoking room on the first floor. He ensured we knew without us asking, the continental breakfast hours. I was thoroughly pleased with the service provided.

the smell in the room was terrible, it stunk, my daughter got scared when the person in the next room was showering, she is 9 & thought they are in our shower, it was that loud, if it was not so late when I got there I would have told them to keep the money & went to a different hotel.

Incredibly clean and well-maintained

Close to highway, but has all expected amenities. Staff are courteous and prompt. Parking is easy, and facilities are well-maintained and very clean. Owners and/or Managers obviously have pride in their facility.

Pros: I liked leaving this hotel! That is the only nice thing I can say about it!!!
Cons: Where to start?!? Cleanliness for sure! Staff that care about conditions & customers would be greatly appreciated! Did I mention cleanliness?!?
Location: That was the only redeeming quality of this hotel - location. Close to the mall & plenty of places to eat & to the highway.
After 7 hours of driving, my 9 year old & I were exhausted & ready to check in - HOWEVER...the TV & cable did not work in our room, the room had a malodorous scent to it, the couch had rips & holes in it, the toilet & shower had hairs in it...needless to say - totally disgusting conditions & when we checked out & told them at the desk, they did not even care what so ever! In fact, someone else was checking out & complaining about the same exact things as we said & the front desk just smiled & waived them on. It is clear to me that this establishment cares nothing about its product nor its customers - only its customers money. I would not even recommend this hotel to someone I didn't like. I have stayed at other Days Inn's before & this one gives the rest an ill name & reputation. I hope the staff & the Days Inn read this as it was truly a terrible experience for my son & I.

Awkward yet adequate

Pros: Location, price, staff.
Cons: Hey, I just gave you some info in part I.
Location: It's Delaware. Look it up yourself.
1. Table was useful, but chair was almost too big for the gap between bed and table. 2. TV was connected badly to a cable box that was out of sight (staff was helpful, but a visible box would have been even more immediately helpful), and an attempt to turn the TV loosened the cable so that the screen went blank, then became snowy. Staff, again excellent (separate call), repaired it, but at the expense of putting the TV farther back on the platform - more awkward to see. Spend a few bucks on a longer cable OR put the cable box on top with the TV, so there's freedom of movement. 3. Perennial problem with too many motels: single switch in bathroom for light and fan. What if I only want the fan running (for the usual reasons) but don't want a light? What if I want a light, but want to be quiet?

Pros: A/C worked pretty well and thank God for no problems with the TV and parking.
Cons: The overall cleanliness of the Hotel in and out was less than acceptable. The Elevator and stairways were filthy and need a serious disinfecting.
Location: A no brainer. Tons of wonderful site seeing and restaurants. Everything was very close and within 20 to 30 minutes off the major highways....
My wife and I had to find an affordable hotel to stay in for 5 to 7 days and fast so, we looked up Hotels on line and the price seemed best for our budget....we purchased a rental car and Hotel package. The car rental was fantastic....the Hotel was disappointing, however. I will say that the Staff was accommodating and the maids did a pretty good job making the bed replenishing, the towels and doing superficial cleaning. That's the okay stuff. Now for the not so okay, the exterior of the property is in need of a serious cleaning....gum, cigarettes, and filth all around. The room, itself, had an unpainted ceiling in the corner, which was peeling away. The walls and doors needed to be wiped down...thank goodness the bathroom was clean or we would have left and asked for a refund for sure. What can we say, the bed was comfy, the A/C and TV worked and the little kitchen area was suitable. Next time, we'll spend a few more dollars and enjoy the comforts of a more reputable place. The name sure fits...."Days Inn" is good enough for a day, not for more than that though......

old chairs, beds, but good for one night

Pros: The RATES.
Cons: Throw out the old chairs, bed linens, buy new pillows, and curtains. Place a smokers can outside the doors.
Location: Micheals & apple bee right next door, good food.
if you get lost on the road, good for a night or two. The look of the rooms is worn. BUT everything is functional in the room. its close to the highway and has 3 possible good places to eat. In addition to being within a mini mall.

Choose Another Place to Stay

Pros: It's proximity to the event we were attending as well as the Christiana Mall. The mall was cleaner than the hotel!
Cons: The smell, unstained sheets, updated and clean chairs
Location: It was close to the Christiana Mall
We stayed at this hotel for one night and thank heavens no more. The room smelled as if some smell was being covered up. The air conditioner worked oppposite of what it was supposed to and was not fresh or clean smelling. Clean bed sheets had stains on them. We wanted ice from the ice machines and only one machine made ice and you had to use your hand to get it to fall, thankfully we were not using it to cool a drink. Other guests staying there were noisy and inconsiderate of other guests. The chairs in the room where stained, not clean and thread bare in spots. Overall it was not a pleasant or good experience. The room was inexpensive but not even worth what we paid. Would not recommend a stay at this Days Inn.
