Nice, Clean, and FriendlyPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The large lobby and restaurant area, and the Quietness!!
Cons: Free parking would be nice.
Location: I didn't do much site seeing this visit, but look forward to in the near future.
Before making my reservation, I visited the website and was very impressed with what I saw. However, since I was staying in the area while visiting a family member, I asked them if they could go view it in person. Yes, the photo's looked to good to be true for the price!! But, it was every bit as nice and than some.

Doubletree by Hilton a disappointment...Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom needed renovation.
Location: Really does not matter.
It all Started with the room. The sink was so small in the bathroom I thought I was in an airplane. There was no counter top built around the sink. Thus I had no where to place personal toiletries. It was a joke. There was a rickety 3-shelf metal bracket. None of the surfaces were solid so anything placed on it fell through. There was no closet except for a rack that was mounted about 4' from the floor. Thus my suit and shirts were nearly hanging on the floor. The hot water pressure in this sink was nearly non-existent. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was loud. It was like having white noise to put you to sleep. I can only hope that there weren't many rooms like this given to other people. The food in the cafe was mediocre at best. The staff was friendly but that really didn't help. There was a weekend event and all the street except one were closed off on Sunday and no one explained that if we left there was only one other entrance back in to the hotel. It was a circus finding our way to the lower entrance since all the streets are OneWay it was like a game to get back. The warm chocolate chip cookie given to us on our arrival hardly made an impression based on our complete experience. Given the $400 plus we spent for 3 nights I feel like it was a robbery. We will not return.

Supervisor is condescending and uncompensatingPosted May 19, 2014
I booked the room for my daughters 10th birthday. I figured we could stay there and she could invite 3 of her friends for cake and swimming, then they build go home. They were 2 hours late with getting the room ready (check in was scheduled for 3) and her friends were there at 4. When the supervisor saw I was there to celebrate her birthday, I was told they don't allow parties and that if I wanted my guests to be allowed to stay, that I had to purchase another room. I told her they would not be sleeping there but it didn't matter. She said my guests would have to leave, id be escorted out or i could buy another room.Being late, and with the girls' parents coming to get them in two hours, I paid for the room rather than sending them home and ruining the party. By the time their toes for there i would have been and hour + so we probably would have been asked to leave anyway. I was not informed until check in that i could not have guests in my room. The supervisor was rude and condesending, and "explained" to me it wasn't a public pool. Once in the pool, there were at least 2 other parties going on, complete with pool side cake, pizza, and alcohol all over the place. Parents were getting buzzed with their kids running amuck. I informed the supervisor who did nothing but defend them. Ive stayed in many hotels, I never had a problem with having guests in my room. After my wedding, my whole family went until my aunts room and celebrated as long as they wanted... no issue.

Awful and unresponsivePosted May 19, 2014
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Start with the personnel at the front desk, then the management who were either totally ignorant of what was going on or unable to supervise.
The front desk personnel refused to deal with a broken toilet - of all things to refuse. They sent a maintenance person twice, who proceeded not to fix it and said he'd have to work on it tomorrow. This is a "Hilton Honors" room, and the front desk refused to move us to a new room. This should never be a hotel that anyone would want to stay in -- just don't do it! And I'm being polite. The general condition of the hotel was old and the facilities and personnel reflected it. The management should be changed - and I'm a fan of Hilton partner properties. Stay away from this particular hotel!

Nice hotel with great servicePosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, staff and the cookies.
Cons: A hot tub would've been nice.
We had a problem with one of the rooms where the thermostat was not working. They were very understanding and moved us to another room because they couldn't get the thermostat to work. Everyone was very nice and very hospitable.

An Evening with the Masters StayPosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: I like that it has a homey feeling.
Cons: From our perspective, we had a positive experience, so can't think of anything needing improvement.
This is a great hotel and we gladly recommend it for the following reasons: It is centrally located, easy to get to, very helpful and cheerful staff. We stayed at the hotel to attend the event An Evening with the Masters put on by Meals on Wheels and even with all the people traffic, staff worked diligently to keep things running smoothly. The room was comfortable and the hotel was quiet even though there were children staying there. My husband and I would definitely stay here again in the future.
