Emergency Place to Stay in Wilmington, NCPosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Location ... but it really is not a Hotel
Cons: Upgrade, paint, complete repairs, clean, re-arrange furniture, brighten up the place!!!
Location: Three fun (and in part raucous) Bar Restaurants in walking distance: Hell's Kitchen, Beer Barrio & Bourbon Street. Great Drafts and foods
The name Riverview Suites promises more than it can hold. The suites are actually privately hold and leased through the Hilton Hotel about 150 yards away where the keys can be picked up. While the 8th floor suite certainly had a river view and a view straight into the turret barrels of the battle ship North Carolina docked across the river, the room made an aged and worn appearance: carpet heavily stained; TV in living room not working; too few sockets for the business traveler; repairs of prior bathroom flooding (also affecting bed room) were incomplete. Entire room arrangement was off-centered and like mirror-reversed. Was too tired to go back to the Hilton to get a different room.

Great spot!Posted Jul 15, 2015
We were very happy with this hotel suite. The location is convenient walking distance to downtown restaurants, shops, river walk, and more. Parking is extra, typical for downtown hotels. Check in across the street - see separate address provided on your confirmation. The condo suites are quiet, clean, and have kitchen facilities. We appreciated the extra space, full size refrigerator and quiet. You can use pool or exercise room or other facilities across the street if desired. Don't choose this if you want a typical hotel setting, but if you like more space and independence as we did, it works great!

Staff Great, accommodations run downPosted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Great Staff, room was good size to accomodate multiple fam members.
Cons: Housekeeping needs to be replaced to complement the rest of the great staff. Units are personally owned and many need to be updated.
Location: There are a ton of good things close by. Restaurants, Riverview, etc are all in walking distance. The downtown area is cool an bustling.
We chose to stay here again because I was traveling with a small child and we knew our friends in the area would come and visit so we wanted a little extra room. The size of the room is fine for a short stay. There are no facilities, you are basically renting someone's privately owned unit, however, you are permitted to use the facilities at the Hilton across the street which is a very short walk. When we first checked in, the unit we went into was horrid. It was filthy and looked like it hadnt been cleaned or tended to in months. Basically, we were so skeeved, that even though we typically grin and bear it and never complain, after a half hour of noticing how nothing was clean, we had to ask for a new room. There was dust on the remote control, a layer, as well as the tv, appliances, etc. The bathroom was in similar condition and there is nothing worse than a gross bathroom when trying to get comfortable. The room was musty, and everything about it was in similar condition. I called the desk because it was just that bad. This is where there is a big plus, the staff (clearly not to include the housekeeping staff) was excellent, understanding, and very responsive. The night manager David literally ran to the unit and incredibly apologetic. He personally went and walked thru a couple of units and inspected them before moving us, all was done very quickly and he was just wonderful and literally saved our outlook for our vaca.

Older Place, but good locationPosted Jun 17, 2015
Cons: Older place. Had to pay to park, which was not made clear at booking.
Very good location if you wish to be in downtown Wilmington. Near shops and restaurants. All rooms look over the river. and have a really nice view. You have to check in and out at the hotel across the street. You also have to pay for parking which was $11 a day- not noted when I booked this.

we were very disappointed with the hotel. When we arrived we discovered the actual hotel is across the street although an extension of the Hilton. Any and all amenities were at the Hilton and have to be walk to to get to. the room is dirty the bedspread had food and crumbs and hair all over it. And the bathroom was filthy with long black hair everywhere. Unfortunately I will not be able to recommend this hotel. the disappointment was as the unit was a nice size.

Hotel Check-inPosted Jun 15, 2015
Pros: The hotel room was neat and comfortable, and the view was excellent.
Cons: My main recommendation would be to have assistance available for persons who are disabled. This would be a great help with luggage.
Location: The River Walk was across the street, and there were many things to see and do. The food at the restaurants was very good.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, but we had no help with our luggage. My wife is disabled, and I recently had surgery, so it was hard carrying our luggage up to the room. We didn't even have a cart to load our things on which would have made things easier.
