Thank you for the very nice review. I would agree with you that the hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to most businesses and restaurants. We look forward to having you stay with us again when you are in the Wilmington area. Warm Regards, Eric Jolikko General Manager

Not what I was expecting or needed

Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Customer Service, Housekeeping
My family was there for a funeral being held in the area. There was a full hotel with us, a couple of parties, and some dance teams that were staying. The restaurant in the hotel didn't really know how to deal with all these people and we got the worst service every morning. The hotel charged me wrong twice and I had to spend two hours getting it fixed with some of the rudest employees I have ever dealt with. The front desk manager was great though..he tried to overcompensate for everyone else. The bathroom floor was unclean; my husband would slide when he attempted to use the bathroom! We found hair in our bed as if the linens hadn't been cleaned! It was just a horrible experience.

I am sorry to read of your loss, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. In regards to your stay, I do apologize for the poor service that you received. The staff strives to give great service to every guest, I am sorry that you didn’t experience that type of service. I am however glad to read that Brandon (Front Office Manager) was able to assist you with your issues. Thank you for taking the time to complete this review as the staff and I will use this as a training tool moving forward. Sincerely Eric Jolikko General Manager

Nice night at the Sheration

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Everything was very clean. Bathroom was quite large. The bed was real comfortable.
The room was clean and the accomodates were excellent. I was a little lost finding the hotel and I called the front desk. She was so helpful that she came out and directed me to the hotel. (It just so happens that I was right down the block). I stayed here years ago but the rooms have definitely undergone and upgrade. We would stay here again. The price was very reasonable.

very nice hotel

we stayed here one night with our dog during the power outage (post ice storm of 2014) and it was wonderful. it was so hard to find a pet-friendly room that week and at first we stayed at another motel in wilmington that was terrible. on the last day we got a room here and it was a breath of fresh air (literally)! the room was large, comfortable and clean. we ordered dinner and breakfast in the room and the food was great. the breakfast waffles were dee-lish!

Thank you for staying with us during what I am sure was a very trying time for you and your family. We are glad that we were able to provide a safe and warm "home" for you after that terrible snow/ice storm. We hope you come back again under better circumstances. Great Hotel

Needed a place to stay when we lost power during a storm. The room was great, recently refurbished. Comfortable bed with beautiful linens. Friendly staff. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Wilmington hotel

Posted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: Large and comfortable rooms with microwave and coffee machine so good for extended stay when you don't want to eat out all the time
Cons: Wifi is expensive when in many hotels its free or low cost these days
I stayed at this hotel during the recent snowy and cold weather, its in a quiet part of town which meant walking out in the evening was difficult and felt unsafe so next time I'd choose somewhere more lively

Thank you for staying us during that terrible ice/snow storm. Typically Wilmington has some very good "night spots" and restaurants but due to the weather, I am sure that did stop numerous people from going out. Hopefully the next time you are in the Wilmington area you stay with us and we can inform you where the "fun" is. Sincerely Eric Jolikko General Manager

Still charging for WiFi. Unreliable WiFi...

Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: The king suites are generally very comfortable.
Cons: Provide free, RELIABLE high speed WiFi Internet like all of the competitors.
I like the rooms here, but Sheraton is still charging $9.95/day for WiFi, a service generally free at lower tier hotels and-- in Wilmington-- the upscale Doubletree. Not only was internet access pricey, it was extremely unreliable, frequently dropping connections and resetting.

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently working on several "tier" options to be available for the guest ranging from $0.0 to $9.95. We hope to have this up and running soon Warm Regards, Eric Jolikko General Manager

Downtown Wilmington / wedding at Carriage House

Posted Dec 30, 2013
Pros: Upscale, clean, spaceous rooms...
Cons: 12 dollars a day parking might be acceptable to most travelers but not this one.... 24 bucks to park your car! We'll look elsewhere next time.
Location: Rockcats minor league baseball team!
Enjoyed the stay except for the parking fee!

Time to Renovate

Posted Dec 24, 2013
Pros: Very comfortable beds; pullout sofa, not so much.
Cons: Renovated & clean bathrooms.
Renovations are long overdue. The wear and tear on the bathrooms are obvious and made the room seem unclean.

Thank you. The hotel did renovate the guest rooms in Nov/Dec 2012 and are scheduled to "re-model" the bathrooms in 2014. Hopefully you will come stay with us again when they are completed. Warm Regards, Eric Jolikko
