Good for the budget

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Close to the beach, near restaurants, outside pool, kitchen in the room.
Cons: Provide more coffee (each pack costs $1 and that is for 2 cups).
Location: Beach, restaurants
We booked our room at the last-minute online for a holiday weekend. We had gotten booked for a smoking room by the website we booked through, and this was bad because we have a 3 year old. I called the hotel to see what could be done, and Maria didn't hesitate to offer to help. She went above and beyond to help us and was really nice and personable. We saved alot of money being able to cook meals in our room as well.

Comfy, cozy

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly, the room was clean and efficient.
Cons: Had an ant problem but only if you left anything resembling food (including napkins used to wrap food) were left on counter.
Location: It was 4.4 miles from the beach, straight shot, and really close to several shopping centers.
It was a small room but had a kitchen so I didn't HAVE to eat out the entire time. We enjoyed our time at the beach while staying here.

Am used to condos. This was good to have kitchen, blow dryer, iron and ironing board. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was awesome and made up for any disappointment in room

Not Bad for the price

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: I liked the full kitchen & pool, good rates, friendly staff. Fairly close to beach but next time I'd stay closer to Carolina Beach.
Cons: Smoking rooms smell TERRIBLE. M/b paint once in a while, steam clean carpets & use air fresheners. Four pillows instead of two. Could be cleaner.
Location: Close to Wrightsville Beach. Carolina Beach and Kure Beach are more fun tho so I'd stay closer to those next time.
I enjoyed my stay, the room was decent for the price. The pool and full kitchen were nice. The room was clean enough, however the side of the fridge was filthy and the floor in the bathroom had a little curly hair on it, which really grossed me out. The baseboards in the bathroom also needed cleaned. The bed could've used a couple more pillows. I requested a smoking room b/c my husband smokes. It was the smelliest room I've EVER been in. My husband didn't even smoke in the room but my clothes smelled like I slept in an ashtray. I had a hard time sleeping the smell was so strong. I guess maybe that's what you get with a smoking room so I can't complain too much. It just seemed excessive. Like the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned (carpets streamed, fresh paint) in many many years. It made the room feel dirty even though it wasn't that bad. I think if the hotel put forth some effort they might be able to make the smoking rooms a little more tolerable. Maybe some air fresheners or something?

Good for our needs

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Rooms we're clean, staff friendly. We were surprised that the rooms weren't cleaned daily though they did bring fresh towels. First experience in an extended stay so don't know if that is common. We needed kitchen facilities to save on food expense and they were adequate for simple meals. Only real draw back--wasn't walking distance to anything but within 10 minutes driving to everything we needed.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay. In a extended stay hotel we are able to keep the cost down to the customer because we do not service the room daily. Thank you for staying with us in Wilmington NC

A bit worn, but comfy

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Great location, beds are comfy, shower is strong, towels are clean, and electric stove, cookware, and silverware!
Cons: Smells like smoke (I couldn't get a non-smoking room), A/C unit is noisy, no free bottled water.
Location: Five minutes East to Wrightsville Beach, ten minutes west to Wilmington Downtown.
Spent two nights at Suburban Extended Stay by luck of the draw from Expedia, was a last minute decision to hit the beach on Memorial Day. For the price, it was not bad. Location was good, like right in between downtown Wilmington and the beach. Beds are comfy and bathroom is clean. Everything works. It has a little kitchen with electric stoves, and clean cookware and silverware are pleasant surprises. Room came with ash trays and smelled like smoke. I couldn't get a non-smoking room so that was a bummer.

Inexpensive, comfortable, no frills

Great option if you don't need high luxury. Clean room, comfortable bed, adequately stocked kitchen, fine pool, nice "neighbors." Just there for a weekend at the beach and it was perfect.
