Cracking Pub B&B
Great customer care, as always. And an ever changing selection of real ales which are always in excellent condition, unlike some pubs who do not respect this live product. Food excellent too.

A beautiful and comfortable place. Staff are hardworking and very friendly. Surroundings are also beautiful and steeped in very interesting history. Local facilities are also superb and just on the doorstep. A very enjoyable stay, which I would highly recommend to others.

Pleasant stay at the Crown.
The Crown is situated in a pretty little village and is pretty much the centre of entertainment for that village. The pub itself is cosy, with beamed ceilings and is well stocked with ales and spirits to suit every taste. The staff are friendly and welcoming as are the locals. We had a twin bed room at the rear of the pub, which was comfortable enough. We were unable to book our usual double bed so sleeping on a smaller bed did not help. The room itself was clean and basic, with a good shower and bathroom. We had a dog with us so we were grateful to stay in a place that accepted dogs without any fuss. We had two evening meals and two breakfasts at the Crown. Breakfast was included and was very tasty. The meals served in the evening were really good, with a good variety of choice and reasonable prices. We ate in the bar, which had a great atmosphere. We would stay again, but would probably visit in the summer, which would allow for more sightseeing as Aldbourne is quite remote and apart from the Crown there is little to do, The countryside around Aldbourne is beautiful and within easy driving distance of Savernake Forest, Marlborough and Swindon. Great walks and views on the nearby Ridgeway.

Old and tired property without the charm, could be pretty but needs a deep clean and attention to general maintenance wouldn’t go a miss.

Found quite a gem here
We turned up quite late for check in but despite this, and even though the pub was busy, the staff were very helpful and polite. The room was clean, reasonably spacious with plenty of tea, coffee, towels, toiletries etc, and the bed was very comfortable after a long ride! The bathroom was clean and tidy. Downstairs had a great selection of drinks and the food menu was comprehensive. Breakfast was all fresh produce, great sausages and bacon along with tea, coffee, juice etc. Great history in this pub as well. Criticisms, hmmm. If I wanted to be really, really picky, the bedroom window was a tad hard to open. Seriously, thats it. Keep up the great work Alan, we intend to visit again soon. Highly recommended. Quirky old Hotel set in beautiful village.

Comfortable but quite basic accommodation
Generous sized room, the en suite was a good size & well provisioned. Comfortable firm bed, warm and pleasant place to be. There was a useful desk & chair, but no bedside tables (or lamps) which would have been a good addition. The TV was incredibly small, adequate but not comfortable to watch. The pub is clearly a focal point for the local community which was great to see, very friendly in the bar & the food was excellent with a wide selection available. The beer garden is a focal point, really well laid out & even an outside pool table. The downside to this is it's busy & quite loud late into the evening. It's a pretty basic level of accommodation, clean and comfortable but certainly no frills so you seem to pay the M4 corridor premium but without the associated high quality. If the price was set a fraction lower it'd match up better.

We walked into an old fashioned room filled with mosquitoes. We asked for a spray and sprayed them ourselves. There was a carnival outside that we did not know about. We waited until our dinner with family, paid for our room and drove back to our home in Surrey after dinner.

we leave the window open for ventilations recommended by government re coved. As we are in the countryside and it is the middle of harvest season. Insect of all type are about but don't read the sign on the window do not enter, sorry and a offer of a fly spray is one method of getting rid of the insect. Some thinks are beyond my control but i can only apologise Alan

Room with a pretty view.
Room 3 was very spacious and clean. There was a lively gig beneath our room, quite entertaining and it didn’t go on too late. Good breakfast. We were encouraged, everyone was so friendly in this pretty quaint village. Would stay again .

Nice enough pub. Room was OK. Food in evening was pretty good. Girl who booked in and was on food front of house made sure everyone knew it was boring. SO boring she clearly forgot to mention to anyone when I was heading for breakfast. Nobody about at 7:30, place locked up. Had to go elsewhere for breakfast even though I'd already paid for one. A first for me.

Great pub in a beautiful location
Nice pub in a beautiful village. I stayed there for 2 nights in June 19. My only criticism would be that service at breakfast was a little slow as there was only 1 person working, but the food was great when it came. if you want to get to sleep early then the noise from the bar below might prevent that but it's all finished by about 11.30pm and it didn't worry me at all.

The welcome and service was good, however the room was really quite basic and some of the cleaning was poor. Food choice was simple and quality was good at dinner and breakfast.
