Friendly and helpful staff. Car park free and useful with 15 minute walk to cathedral close. Comfortable room and bathroom. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to attractive Salisbury.

Excellent stay at the Riverside Hotel. We arrived early/before the usual check in time so that we could visit the cathedral. The staff were very helpful and told us our room was ready early which meant we could leave our things in the room (with a lovely view of the river). The welcome drinks were a fantastic bonus alongside the evening shuttle service to and from the Market Square. Breakfast was super as well. Definitely recommended!!

Loved this hotel. A short walk from town but if you prefer they offers shuttle bus to town between certain times! Couldnt do enough for my partner and I. Also gave us a free welcome drink voucher. Has a lovely veiw of the river avon with the cathedral spire in the background. Free parking. Even let us leave the car there all day after we checked out. Would book again!

Great hotel approx 15 min walk from the city centre. Rooms were very comfortable and had air con. Breakfast was good hot and fresh and eggs were made to order and you helped yourself to the rest. I think more staff would help though at busy times as they were getting orders, drinks, keeping buffet stocked and cleaning tables. Only 2 on duty.

Great surroundings and building
This isn’t your average everyday square hotel. This place is an old manor house and it is truly some beautiful English heritage. The room are different with sloped ceilings in some rooms but regardless, it is wonderful. Great bar and sitting area over looking the river. (Clues in the name). Free parking!! I didn’t eat here or k is if they even do food but the location is not too far from town. The have a free shuttle to town but the walk is about 10 minutes and that’s where the awesome cathedral is located too. Nice town. Quiet and friendly as towns go. Reminds me of a college town. Definitely worth the stay.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for refurbishment. The stairs were quite a challenge for older people The room heating was not easy to adjust and the shower was difficult to control. The staff were lovely and cleanliness was excellent. The location was to die for with superb views of the iconic Cathedral. When fully refurbished it will be a five star stay.

Taking into account the place has a bar, and with that some expected evening entertainment, was overall a pleasant stay. Some small details needing attention but the staff I met were lovely and welcoming

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Hotel location perfect for a short walk into the town. Breakfast was amazing. Room was large and clean with a lovely view. Bus shuttle to the town in the evening was an added bonus. Recommend for a few days getaway.

It’s difficult to imagine a nicer place to stay in Salisbury. An impeccably clean boutique hotel, an attractive building, and a general relaxed atmosphere. Go for a river view room if you can - the views over the Rivers Avon and Nadder are superb, and are overlooked by the spire of Salisbury Cathedral. Yet, despite being a short walk from the centre, the hotel was very quiet. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed - a staff member led us to our room while offering to carry our suitcases. That continued with other services offered - a free minibus to take hotel guests into the centre at evening, and the option to have staff make your reservations for hotels in town. Breakfast was very good - while there is no evening meal at the hotel, we did have coffee and cake at the bar in the afternoon, which was superb. We’ll definitely return.

Lovely stay..
Pleasant stay; friendly staff. We decided not to use their convenient shuttle in the evening for all but the last evening and enjoyed the short and scenic walk to the various great restaurants nearby.

Breakfast service was excellent the lady in charge was helpful and friendly. A typical English breakfast fare but quality ingredients and well cooked with a few extras that were appreciated. The shuttle service was most convenient and friendly. The room was clean and modern. Staff in general were all helpful and we would stay again.

Great hotel and wonderful staff
A weekend stay to see the cathedral, the hotel is only a 15 minute walk to the cathedral and there is a brilliant shuttle bus in the evenings which we didn’t know about which made life so much easier. The room was nice, large and comfortable with a great view out towards the river and cathedral. The staff were the standout thing about our stay everyone was friendly and welcoming, asking about our day and checking we had dinner plans ready with recommendations when we didn’t. A great hotel I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

The Riverside
We had a great stay in this hotel. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was really good. It is very close to the town and Cathedral so you can walk but in the evening they have a mini bus to take you into town and bring you back at no cost to you which was excellent. This is because they don't have a restaurant in the evening so you can go into town ,have a meal and a drink and the mini bus is waiting to bring you back. We stayed for two nights and it was an overall really enjoyable experience.

The staff at The Riverside were amaing throughout, we cannot fault them. The hotel is in a lovely location, free drink on arrival and the rooms were a lovely size and clean. However, there were a few areas which we felt let our stay down. Unfortunately the cold water tap did not work in our bathroom so we only had access to hot water, we were awoken twice in the early hours due to explained fire alarms, the breakfast offering was lacking based on the £15 each price point and other properties we have stayed at. Overall an average stay.

Pleasant hotel 10-15 mins walk past the Cathedral to the centre. No restaurant. Shuttle service was included in the price to / from the city. Ample parking. We passed on breakfast due to the price.

Good location for walking into Salisbury (10 min walk). Room was big and in excellent condition. Lovely view of the cathedral from the hotel.
