5 out of 5 for a hotel that cost £45 bb.

What more do people want for £45 Unbelievable value for money. Amazing location right in the middle of a park next to a church and lydiard house. Did not have dinner so can't comment but breakfast was everything you could want with good service. Nice swimming pool and sauna which was a bonus.

Lydiard Hotel

Posted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: Quiet, peaceful location with convenience for Swindon.
Cons: The swimming pool was out of action & the reception desk was a little uninviting; these give you a somewhat negative feeling about the Hotel.
Location: I drove to Swindon & it was perfect for that
Hotel was in a newer block behind the old Lydiard House; I knew this so was not expecting much. For the money I spent the hotel was good value; it was warm, clean, quiet & comfortable with coffee making facilities. The Hotel won't win any awards, with things such as the swimming pool out of action, but it was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. I'd rate this as good value. If you want a Hotel with good food & facilities I'm afraid that I can't comment, as I didn't use them, but I suspect that they will be average at best.

misleading photo

they show you a photo of place beside the hotel! the room is clean but noisy. you can hear the next doors and anyone walking in the corridor, if you want to have early night , avoid tuesdays, in the church they do bells training until 9pm and believe me very loud for long time. by 7.00 am the you hear the guests of seminars or conferences banging doors walking up and down the corridors and having a chat as they are in your bedroom. when you get some peace then the cleaner start cleaning the surrounding rooms making noises! if u want to recover and sleep a bit, you cannot do that because they want you out by 10 am. was complete waste of money and l am not going to do it again.
