Not As Expected Posted Jul 12, 2010
Despite its star rating this is a very ordinary B&B. It is on a main road, which is very noisy during the day and at night (when late night revellers are having thir fun). The room was comfortable although not as good as it might have been. The major drawback is that there is no on-site parking at all. Cars can be left in a club car park across the road, or even any possibility of waiting near the front to off-load luggage or passengers. There is then a very busy road to cross with luggage to get to the B&B. Although there is a cross-walk, you still have to wait for a break in traffic before rushing across with your luggage. Then, your car is left unattended in a non-secure car park overnight. The property itself is a very ordinary looking, old house, with no great redeeming features inside or out. There are no public rooms (such as a lounge) other then the breakfast room, which is more like a cafeteria, with tables without table cloths. The 'fresh fuit basket' promised consisted of an orange and a couple of bannanas that had seen better days. We could probably have asked for more and perhaps they would have had them, but there did not seem to be any point. The rest of the breakfast items were very ordinary. The staircase from the hallway to the bedrooms is quite steep and narrow, making it difficult to haul heavy luggage. This would be a challenge for elderly guests. The best thing we can say is "very ordinary and unexceptional". We would not use it again.
