“Great hotel, restaurant and bar”

Cute place, all done up in 1890s style. Restaurant was fantastic, and they've also got a cute bar. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

“Perfectly Charming”

Would recommend this quaint place to any one of my friends or family. The staff were wonderful, the food was extremely good and the rooms were very welcoming...many things to do in the area -- we visited some very nice wineries and drove on Skyline Drive ... this hotel is a much better experience than the bland Holiday Inn/Comfort Inn types.

“Christmas in Strasburg VA”

This small hotel in a historic building will charm anyone who loves to stay in B&Bs, for example. It's in the heart of the quaint historic district of Strasburg VA, a small town in the beautiful Valley of the Shenandoah. It offers a pub and a restaurant which attracts many locals.

“A fun, unique place.”

The hotel is terrific. It is a fun, unique place that you are not going to find elsewhere. Plus, the peace and tranquility of the town and area will allow you to totally relax. The only downsides were 1. the mattresses were not as comfortable as they could have been. I think they are using those vintage mattresses we all had in the 80s that had almost no comfort support. 2. The victorian decor is terrific but too much. I love old stuff, but too much in one place makes it look like a tag sale. Otherwise, perfect!

“Great Destination!!”

Having traveled a lot in my life, I have learned to take travel brochures & their descriptions with a grain of salt as they look and sound great...until you get there. This is just the opposite! I can't say enough good things about this hotel. We live in Ohio and wanted to go on a "mini-vacation" over Thanksgiving. We like the Shenandoah Valley and had been to Woodstock (15 miles away) last year so we got on the internet and looked at towns in that area. The picture of the hotel caught our eye...and the description, too....Victorian hotel...Confederate hospital during the Civil War.etc. I have traveled quite a bit and normally take the photos & descriptions with a grain of salt as they are normally prettier & better than the actual thing. Not so in this case. Although it was a 6 hr. drive we decided to try it and are we ever glad we did!! It was everything and more than we expected!! All of the staff that we dealt with were exceedingly friendly...there is a neat old bar area... and a great restaurant (where we partook of their fantastic Thanksgiving buffet...and when we stepped into the room we felt like we had stepped back into Victorian times! As a matter of fact, it was such a great experience that we booked a weekend for this coming Spring!!

“A quaint Hotel that is a real suprise”

You should make note that there is no elevator. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we have to go up 2 flights of stairs. Also, although our room was very quaint - it really was tight for 2 people. However, the front desk girl was sooo nice and very helpful that she really made our stay enjoyable. I think her name was Ronnie (not sure) but she was just as helpful as she could be. Food was excellent. Enjoyed our lunch and dinner. Continential breakfast was OK

“Picturesque”

Charming and like going back in time. Food was amazing. Friendly, accommodating staff. Bed was short for tall people, next time will ask for a larger one...
