Not impressed

Room was dated; TV and air-conditioning barely worked. Some very unsoavory people milling around outside ground-level room. Did not sleep well, left early am!

OK to just spend a night to sleep

Cons: What I have mentioned in the experience column
Location: It is close to Brattleboro although it is still necessary to drive to the town centre.
The beds were comfortable but the room we were in was at the end of the building and on the second floor. ( it was a two floor motel) and it was very dark with only a little window up high at the back and a larger window at the front faced the hallway and was enclosed by a wall. There was a damage to one wall. The bathtub outer cover was chipped and the floor need caulking. The door would only lock if we pulled it in slightly. The curtains that pulled together on the front window did not match. The air conditioning worked and so did the TV. The young girl at the reception desk was lovely. It would not be place to spend time in except to come in at night and go to bed and leave early the day.

3 am wake up call!!!!

Location: Nice location near nice restaurants .
At 3.am I was woken by someone posing as the front desk saying I had reached $100 on my in room movies. Also the content was of an adult nature and as I was with my 11 year old son they were going to call the police. I in fact called 911 and the local police arrived at 3.05am. After fearing that it was the so called front desk tying to get in.I refused to open the door. In fact after verifying their I.D they were in fact the police who told me that other rooms had be called by someone who had hacked into the phone system to hoax call people. The hotel doesn't have pay movies anyway which I didn't know and the police also told me that other Econolodges in 4 states had also received the call. I feel sorry for the owner who's fault it wasn't but I'm afraid I will not book another Econolodge because of this distressing incident.

Dirty

Pros: Convenient to where I needed to be.
Cons: Update the bathroom. Take care of the cleanliness problem. Call in a health inspector.
If you like dirty showers with other peoples hair still on the shower curtain, dirty and cracked shower floors, stained and possibly dirty linen, dirty coffee makers, and yesterday's cold coffee and luke warm sausage patties at the continental breakfast this is a great place to stay. Previously stayed there 10 years ago. Only change was fresh colors in the room. Never again.

Pleasant stay

This was a good location for our trip. Also, close to businesses and restaurants, so we didn't have to travel far for food, gas, etc. Wall heating unit was annoying (turning on and off, as the temp was reached), but otherwise served our purposes.

Place needs a lot of TLC

Pros: Low price and location.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: If a person comes to Brattleboro there is a reason, otherwise they would not stop.
I reserved 2 non-smoking rooms, one smelled of cigaret smoke, the night manager said he did not smell the smoke and then offered a replacement that was not made-up. The final replacement was OK. The smoke alarms in the two rooms we had were disconnected. The heat was turned off in both rooms ,was off when we arrived and took a long time to recover. The phone instruction card was not in the room. The key for the replacement room was made for only one day even though I had prepaid for two days. Neither room was properly made-up on our second day, beds unmade, cups not replaced,etc. WiFi system requires sign-in each time a device is started, an annoyance.

Acceptable but wouldn't recommend

If you can afford a different option, go for that. The bed caused great deals of body pain, the owners were grumpy and kind of rude when I checked in, and the shower (no tub) had some sort of floor grime. However, very nearby (less than five minutes walking) is a dollar store, grocer store, two pharmacies, Burger King, Chinese food, pizza, Dunkin Donuts, two gas stations, the Greyhound stop, a Subway restaurant, and the exit ramp for 91.

Nice hotel, horrible staff

The room was large, clean and comfortable. However the one employee at the desk was very rude. In the morning the free breakfast should have been from 6-9. I went at 6:45, early enough to stil make it skiing that day, and no breakfast was to be seen. When I rang the bell for assistance a very sleepy clerk came out and said he over slept bc of a sleeping pill and no breakfast for an hour. We didn't have time to wait, so asked to check out and he didn't reply.

too small

No tub just small stand shower that not fit pregnant woman and not fit basketball bodyguy like my boyfriend. Heat is weak at every room. They set up small elertic box of heater. Room of king bed size really crowd. Friends of our stay at two beds, its bigger and very spaceful. I love hot waffles that it cooked there. Other than that it taste fake egg, fake sausages and expired milk (5 days after expired) is serve on table. Told guy on desk and they said taste is fine... yuck
