Maybe it was the renovation .......

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Location/Breakfast and the swimming pool for sure.
Cons: We would have liked 2 more chairs there was a big space for them. Employees which are friendly and smiling.
Location: Pointe Pelee
The hotel was under renovation. Maybe that explain why there was only one chair in the room and we were 4 .(2 adult & 2 children) I was also not impress with the reception no one was smiling , it was like we were disturbing them. We were quoted one price when we reserved and when we registered we were told there was an additional $10.00 charge if the children wanted to use the park....which are the 2 water slides in the swimming pool. the breakfast was included and it was good and the lady there was very nice and patient with everybody. I would give them another chance but for sure when the major renovations are done and if the price is right. Regards, Danielle V,

Nice hotel near Point Pelee National Park

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: The location, rooms have patio doors leading to a balcony. Good continental breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is currently being renovated so some furniture was missing, like easy chairs in the room. Dining room service at dinner was very slow.
Location: Great location at the edge of Point Pelee National Park which has many beaches and walking trails. There is a golf course very near the hotel.
We liked the hotel for it's location and cleanliness. The first room we were given overlooked the atrium and was very dark so we changed.

Nice hotel

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Cons: Update pillows, Monitor the cut off time to use the arcade room, The hot breakfast portions need more variety, not worth $6 for adults/$4 for kid
Location: Close to the city and Parks
This hotel is nice even though they were under renovations, kids had a blast in their water park. We were gone during the day so we didn't hear how noisy it was because of the renovations, once completed, it will look awesome....we will come back. The beds were quite comfortable but the pillows need to be replaced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The restaurant on site was awesome so we didn't have to leave the hotel for dinner. Reasonable prices as well. The play area (arcade room) was nice for the kids but can be noisy (till 11 pm and sometimes a little later) if your room faces it especially if you have to get to sleep early...we spent two nights here to visit Point Pelee National Park. Totally recommend this hotel.

Too much renovating!!

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: The renovated room was nice and my son enjoyed the pool and water slides
Cons: The shower head was pathetic and old. They did replace it with another crappy one which wasn't much better
Location: The location isn't the best because you have to drive to everything. Nothing is close enough to walk
Too much renovations! Even on our balcony! Wires hanging every where, lots of unfinished work. Disappointing that there was no discount because of this and had to pay extra for the 2 small water slides. Not sure why they filled in one of the pools with cement? Will be nice once finished. Should let people know on their site that they are doing extensive renovations

Will come back

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Spacious rooms & family activities like badminton nets, pool table, ping pong, basketball nets and video games (.25 for most of them).
Cons: Have the sauna working and more healthier choices at breakfast.
Location: Location was good. National park up the road, shopping and go karting next door to the hotel.
Upon arrival, contruction was taking place in and out of the hotel. This was not disclosed when booking. I did ask the front desk clerk if this was going to be an issue and she stated no one had complained as of yet. It was not too bad. The room was spacious and clean. A fridge and microwave was in the room as well. There was a couple bottles of water and a small bag of brownies waiting when we arrived in the room to compensate any discomfort due the renovations. . Deluxe contennential breakfast was included in the price and was full of carbs fo rthe most part but still good. More fruit variety would have been nice. There was only one waffle maker which took 3 min per waffle to make so needless to say, it was quite the wait. This was during the week with about 15 people having breakfast. I do not want to imagine if it was a full house; I hope you have a lot of patience. It was enjoyable either way and a great family place. We will go back and staff were very pleasant.

Going thru renovations

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Booked a suite only to get called later to switch it to a normal room. Mind you it was lower price but not what I wanted. The whole place is under construction. But staffwas nice.

Location was in a rural area away

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Motel was under renovation -- rooms were not furnished adequately for even those conditions - ie no place to at all to hang clothes; no bedspreads.
Location: Plenty to do in the area.
Staff were pleasant to deal with and the breakfast and evening meals were very tasty.

Close to Pt. Pelee, marginally-adequate hotel

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Pt. Pelee
Cons: Finish the renovations
Location: Point Pelee on Lake Erie.
In fairness the hotel was undergoing renovations when we stayed, and the reservations system was struggling to cope. We were first given a room that...didn't have a bed. We then got an interior room (overlooking a massive courtyard that, had it been full of kids, might have been noisy...but the hotel was occupied mostly be late middle-aged birders, so not really a problem.) Room was comfortable and quiet, and the hotel breakfast was pretty decent. If you're birding Pt. Pelee, it's a good choice.
