Very nice hotel, right on the riverfrontPosted Nov 30, 2013
Location: Right on the waterfront, in front of the Windsor to Detroit Tunnel Bus Terminal, and the popular bar strip and restaurants within walking distance.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary to go to the Red Wings game in Detroit. We were pleased when we arrived at the hotel. We pulled right up to the front door, and I went inside for a very quick check-in. Upon doing so, the front desk staff were very helpful, gave easy instructions for parking and even recommended some great restaurants for our anniversary. We went to our room and were very pleased with the view of the river, cleanliness and look of the room overall. We were at first a little concerned that our bed didn't have big comforters as we are used to, but we found that the slightly thinner blankets were a very warm material, and didn't need to ask for extra blankets. We had all the necessary amenities that we needed. After a wonderful dinner at one of the restaurants recommended by the front desk staff, we were also pleasantly surprised that the hotel is located literally right in front of the Windsor to Detroit Tunnel, which was something we had thought about doing to see the game, as both of us planned to be drinking. We literally walked out the back door of the hotel, and the bus terminal was right there, brought us to the game, and brought us right back, quick and painless. We both slept extraordinarily well, and enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning. My boyfriend complained that there was no bacon, but that's his only complaint. Check out was very fast and easy, and overall we had a wonderful time.

Nice view of the riverPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: Great view. Nice warm pool. Decent breakfast included with the price. Comfortable beds. Safe in the room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean.
Cons: Fan and plug in bathroom did not work. We did let them know so hopefully it is an easy fix.
Location: Free Art Gallery next door. Lots of restaurants. We went to Bubbies featured on the Food Networks "You Gotta Eat Here". Yum! Close to Casino
My daughter and I stayed here in order to tour Windsor University. The room was comfortable for the two of us. It might be small for a family of 4. The décor was a little bit dated but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel has a nice warm pool and great exercise room. Breakfast was included in the price. It included make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, toast, fruit, juice, coffee. The waitress was lovely. We had a beautiful view of the Detroit River and skyline from our window. We would definitely stay here again.

MediocrePosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Cheap rate
Cons: cleanliness- had 3 rooms and all three carpets needed a good shampooing,
Location: downtown scene, lots of eateries
Used to stay when it was a hilton- Now that it is transitioning, staff, cleanliness and overall satisfaction has gone down. Still upset they wont cover parking fees (12.00$) but supply an "continental" breakfast. Staff was rude on checking in and checking out, forgot my sweater and took 13 phone calls and two visits to get it back. Also was upset that my heating/cooling unit couldn't work and lighting in all three rooms rented wasn't good

Nice enough for the price and location.Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: It was very clean, and the view of the river was nice. Also, continental breakfast was included.
Cons: The rooms were very basic and there was not a mini fridge in the room.
Location: We easily walked to Caesars and to Dinner in a local restaurant. We parked in the parking garage behind the hotel and didn't move it until we left.
We stayed for just one Saturday night. I knew that this hotel used to be a Hilton. Therefore, I was a little disappointed when the room was very basic.

We're not in the Hilton anymorePosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: downtown location
Cons: attitude of the staff, and breakfast
Booked this hotel because we often stay at the Hilton and love the hotel location and view of the Detroit skyline. It had changed hands on November 1, 2013 and is now the Waterfront Hotel We arrived to a surly front desk staff only to find that what had been booked as "river view" was only a partial river view. The river and the skyline could barely be seen. We asked for a full river view room, but front desk staff was very curt--"no, that's what you booked and that's all we have". We went to our room and found that the TV remote was missing. Called front desk and they sent someone up, who told us that there was no cable hookup for the TV and that they would have to move us. They moved us right away, but still only a partial river view. The only benefit we would see was that it came with a free buffet breakfast. When it was the Hilton, we had to pay for breakfast but it was always wonderful. However, the Waterfront's breakfast was so disappointing! Very little to choose from--sausages that looked like tiny flat burgers, scrambled eggs (likely powdered eggs), do-it-yourself waffles that were dry and heavy.Toast and bagels, cereal, a few juices and coffee.
