Descent but not great.

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: Comfortable bed. Included breakfast.
Cons: Renovations. Cleaning could be better.
Location: I did not explore the area at all.
We arrived at 1 in the morning to the most helpful and friendly staff I've ever met. That being said, the area the hotel is in was definitely not the greatest. I learned that windows had been smashed out of cars the night previous and my walk across the street to get some snacks at the Shell station was quite the adventure. When we arrived to our room the door was actually open. When entering the room everything appeared alright except for the dirty diaper on the floor. The room (other than the dirty diaper) appeared to be clean. Bedding was clean at least. This hotel could use a serious renovation though. I'm not one to complain too much about hotels, but the carpet was pretty disgusting. I'm assuming it was vacuumed but it is so old that there is not much that can be done. Why hotels still use disgusting carpet to being with is a mystery to me but if they do then change them often. I slept ok, the bed was comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was nice as well.

Comfortable, clean and inexpensive

This was a relatively inexpensive hotel quite close to downtown Winnipeg. It was clean, good included breakfast and adequate wifi. Not special but very adequate and the location was excellent.

What a pleasant surprise!!

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: I think the Econolodge chain is well worth staying at.....I travel across Canada and it's a pleasure for me to stay at any one of their establishments
Cons: The Carpet outside the bedroom needs to be steamed and cleaned...someone spilled something on the mat and it looks like a little unsightly!!!
Location: The location is good and if one has their own transport, you can get to anywhere you like in minutes!!
The Motel has been upgraded and has everything that you could ask for...it is clean, well kept and the room itself was more than what you could ask for, with a good bed / mattress ( I was in a double room ) and adequate enough space. The continental breakfast a plus, with lots to eat......I could not find any negatives at all......I'll be back for sure!!!

Disappointing!

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location was good for visiting the hospital.
Cons: Remove the no visitor policy and make sure the rooms are clean and fix the leaky windows!
Location: locations is awesome for visiting the hospital,
When I checked it, the room smell like smoking, I didn't like the room as I got allergy reactions from the smell of the room and went downstairs to ask for another room. The 2nd room we got was nice, but the rug was soaked through. The room got wet by the rain. So we relaxed for a bit, all our socks got wet, but didn't feel comfortable. So I went up front to go see the office to tell them the room was wet, we got moved to another room. This was all in Day 1 in three different floors. I stayed in the hotel as we were waiting for the arrival of our grandson and it was just next door. There is a policy of no visitors after 10pm, I couldn't take up a baby sitter so I can go enjoy a night out. We are non smokers and non drinkers. Stayed a couple nights there but grandson didn't want to come out early. Had to move to another hotel, where it was so much comfortable, even my kids didn't like their stay there.
