Beautifully old mansion preserver and charised by it' owner Richard. His understated presence made the stay a wonderful experience . The breckfest fratTa with it's 6 cheeses, locally grown vegetables and ItLian sausage linger in my mind four days later.

Victorian Elegance in WinonaPosted Nov 11, 2013
This Victorian house is gorgeous. We were fascinated by the library. My wife curled up in a comfy chair with a Shakespeare book, a glass of wine being guarded by a stuffed peacock. We stayed in the Maude King Alexander suite which has a large bathroom and soaking tub. The next day we went to the Maritime Art Museum which is complimentary if you stay at the Mansion. Who would have thought that they have two Monet, a Van Gogh, and a Picasso?

Stumbled into a treasurePosted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Alexander Mansion alone is worth going to Winona! A very romantic bed and breakfast with fabulous service, all sorts of special treats, and a very interesting history (as told to you over a great breakfast). We may go back just for the chance to stay there again.

Night at the museum...Posted Aug 5, 2013
Words cannot do justice to the experience our family enjoyed at the Alexander Mansion, but I'll try. We were treated like family. The mansion was extraordinary. Our accommodations were perfect. Breakfast was fantastic. We've already been telling everyone how great this experience was, and that everyone must make every effort to spend at least one night at Alexander Mansion.

Old world charm and an amazing breakfaastPosted Jul 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a beautiful property and the host is a true gentleman. Breakfast was an event not just a meal. Richard makes the whole experience very personal. If you like the B&B scene, you will love this place.

A Full and Wonderful ExperiencePosted Jul 18, 2013
Take everything you think you know about staying in a bed and breakfast and multiply it by at least five. Richard is the consummate host. And don't even think about skipping breakfast. It starts at 9:00. We thoroughly enjoyed Richard and our fellow guests' company, lingering until well after 10:30. The mansion itself is a treasure. It has the most beautiful woodwork and trimmings. We're looking for excuses to go back soon.

I can't say enough good things about the Alexander Mansion and its wonderful inn-keeper Richard. The mansion is beautiful, perfectly restored and decorated, and immaculately clean. Richard went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and found things to do. He served complimentary wine and introduced us to other guests, his restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations were great, and we came back at night to find our room shades lowered and a little night cap and chocolates. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and I loved the large bathtub and fancy bathrobe. The 4-course breakfast was absolutely delicious and very generous, my husband and I and my in-laws had a perfect getaway there. I highly recommend the Alexander Mansion, and Winona is a lovely town with a lot to offer. I'm already planning my next trip!
