“I hope to go back!”

La Posada is like stepping back in time. Marvelous. I wish I had arrived earlier in the day, so that I could explore it's many features more fully. Terrific little bar, great restaurant, charming live music, well supplied gift shop.. My only caveat, one must carry one's bags upstairs; that's right, no elevator, no bell hop.

Wonderful! Loved the decor, and the ambiance of the hotel in general, and the Turquoise Room! Very efficient staff....wait time a bit long at breakfast, but overall, a wonderful experience! Would be happy to visit again, and stay a bit longer. We traveled with a fairly large group, and all had positive remarks about the hotel! Most comfortable room!

“'Take it easy . . ' in Winslow Arisona”

This is the only hotel of any worth to stay at Winslow, but it is a real gem. There can only be 3 reasons to visit Winslow - to have your photo taken ' on the corner of Winslow.....' , to ride Route 66, and to visit The Petrified Forest NP which is awe inspiring. The hotel is central for the first 2, and a 50 mile drive away from the National Park. But after a day of hiking the natural wonders of this amazing park, it was a real treat to return to this period hotel, with its original 20's /30's features. The bedroom was furnished with Navejo rugs, we had a balcony and the bed was bigger than our bedroom at home. However you must be fond of trains as the Santa Fe Railroad - the original reason for the hotel's existance, runs directly behind the grounds. The trains rumble very gently along all day and through the night, but didn't disturb us. There is a small display documenting the hotel's history, and many artefacts relating to the past. There is a restaurant within the hotel serving 'fine dining' style food. The meal was OK but not memorable. However there were no other options in town ! We enjoyed our 2 night stay.

This is a great hotel the value is incredible and the staff is exceptional. the turqoise room has the best food we have ever had,.

“Please with the Posada”

This is an hotel that is full of recent USA history. Though lacking in some up to date facilities that might be found in a more modern hotel this is more than compensated for by the restored character of the establishment. Though Winslow is a pretty quiet place without a lot of character this is still a hotel that is a must for anybody wanting to take in the character of Arizona. To see mile long trains and the arrival of Amtrak passengers through the restaurant windows was a treat. The building has been very well restored and is full of interesting features and displays. Well worth at least a couple of days stay.

“Great Historical Hotel”

We had a great time at La Posada in Winslow AZ. They have beautiful garden areas and the lobbies are full of interesting art and historical information. Wandered around for hours looking at sculptures, paintings and gardens. Great restaurant also.

“Winslow Has a Real Jewel!!!”

La Posada Hotel is REAL JEWEL!! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knows the hotel very well. The restaurant is of the highest quality food,, the wait staff is extremely capable, friendly and very attentive to your needs. The rooms are very clean and attractive and are stocked with numerous books, a big screen TV. Thank goodness there is NO phone,refrigerator or microwave. The beds are top notch, king size,frim yet comfortable. A very enjoyable stay. We would stay here again.

“A beautifully restored gem”

We stopped by La Posada by accident about 10 years ago, shortly after it had been purchased and renovation was said to be getting underway. We stopped by again last year and were amazed by how well the restoration had progressed. This year we stayed one night and would like to have stayed at least one more. The restaurant atmosphere, service and food were all very good. Our room was small but quite adequate and nicely decorated. I loved the labyrinth / meditation maze in the back yard. Having the many trains go by right beyond the back gate - including the passenger trains that stopped - was a treat. Highly recommend it for anyone who appreciates the classic style of the old West. Designed by Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, who also designed El Tovar hotel at the Grand Canyon South Rim and the cabins at Phantom Ranch on the cabin floor, both of which we saw in the days after our pleasant stay at La Posada.

“Wonderful La Posada”

We stayed on the suggestion of a friend. This is a beautiful hotel, with an amazing history. Built in 1930 as a Harvey house. The current owners have done a great job of restoration. I first actually saw the Hotel from my cabin on the Amtrak Southwest Chief, which stops in Winslow. The hotel now serves as the waiting room and station. It was wonderful sitting outside with a cocktail watching the huge freight trains roll through. The restaurant is a little on the pricey side, but excellent quality. Try the "Arizona Eggs" for breakfast. Eggs on Polenta with green chile salsa and Black beans! Yum!

“loved LaPosada!!”

This hotel was awesome- filled with such charm and character! OK after you have taken your photo on the corner in Winslow there's not alot left in the town to do....but that is fine if you are staying at LaPosada- it has much to occupy your time! Gardens with comfortable seating tucked in front and back, great gallery of paintings, lots of historical information on the old railroad hotels, great martini bar, great restaurant at the hotel, tons of nooks and crannies, many bookshelves with interesting (!) books. I was surprised at the frequency of trains passing through but it was fun to watch and listen to. I am so glad we followed the recommendation of a friend and stayed here. We will certainly be back!! The rooms are smaller- but very comfortable- except my pillows :(. The hotel was full the night we stayed but was not loud and crazy...which leads me to... this is not a happening night spot kind of place- most guests seemed to be in their 40's to 60's with a few younger couples and families mixed in. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their stay!
