“Mostly Deplorable”

Room Bad Room was dirty and run down. There was a dead roach on the floor. Carpet looked awful with stains everywhere. Not well vacuumed. Entire property looks like it was once abandoned. Door of room looks like it was once forced open. TV didn't work very well. Better Mattress was good, sheets and towels were clean. Able to take a shower. A/C worked Continental Breakfast Bad Had a waffle iron but it was out of service. No juice. coffee so so, tasteless donuts , no fruit Better Had toast and butter and jam plus Raisen Bran Cereal with milk Overall property needs alot of improving including the upkeep of the rooms

Area recommendations
The old railroad hotel (name? Ansonia or something) had beutiful grounds and gardens and people staying there spoke well of it including the restuarant

“The Lodge in Winslow AZ”

The town of Winslow is in sort of a revival, but the main streets are currently torn up causing minor delays. This hotel is a single floor 1960s bungalow style and looks presentable from the outside, with good (in front of room) parking. The staff is friendly and helpful, but my room was substandard in condition. Ceiling showed past major leak damage. Past due for some repainting and recarpeting. Door bottom seals are non-existent, letting in light and noise. I was greeted by a "water bug", the first night, but after sending him to his "reward", no others showed up during my 4-night stay. The room had no refrig. or microwave oven, just a modern coffeemaker. The furnishings and bed were fine. They offer cable with HBO as the only premium offering. The Lodge offers phone and WiFi, for Internet access, but no 10Base-T wiring in the room. My WiFi card was broken, so they were graceous to loan me a nice Laptop to check my email whenever I wanted. I suspect no place in town is far enough away, not to hear the freight trains passing through all night, insulation or not! The Motel has those "annoying" magnetic card key locks, which only let me in once out of about 10 trys!

Getting around
The town is in the middle of a bit of a revival. Some main streets are torn up for renewal. Some streets are one-way, so be careful, expect slow speeds in town. There is a nice old town area with a variety of shops. The sidewalks really "roll up" at night! No local movie theater. Flagstaff and Holbrook offer more town amenities, at this time. Several State and National Parks, several Indian Reservations and the Meteor Crater venue are close by.

“Worst place I have ever stayed!”

We were traveling across country and booked cheap motels for our 5 day long drive. We were driving about 12 hours per day and really just wanted a place to sleep and shower and that was pet friendly. The Lodge in Winslow, AZ was filthy. It had spots of mold on the walls and ceiling. Beds were disgusting, carpet was gross. The bathroom was comparable to a filthy gas station's bathroom. From what we saw of Winslow, AZ, it was not a very nice town. We should have stopped earlier and stayed in Flagstaff, AZ instead. Thankfully, we had sleeping bags in the car! Worst motel out all the others we slept in on our whole trip. We ended up fleeing the room at 2 am. Don't waste your money!

“Unsatisfied”

Photos made motel appear much nicer than it actually was. Motel was not clean on outside, room chair leg had duct tape for repair, no hair dryer, and room needed updated. Motel was located out of the way and not in a very good part of town. Would not repeat my stay.
