Very Comfy-poor breakfastPosted Jun 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
We requested a smoking room because my husband smokes, but the smell of smoke on the floor when you stepped off the elevator was so strong it even got to my husband. Our room didn't smell so strong of smoke and it was very clean. The beds were extremely comfy so we were satisfied with our actual room. I thought it was strange that two hotels "shared" an outdoor pool but it worked I guess. Breakfast was not very good at all and we got there an hour after it started. However, my family would stay here again due to the cleanliness, comfy beds and location (close to restaurants).

Beware of Non-Smoking Room PromisePosted Jun 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
I'd booked a non-smoking room but was given a smoking room on a smoking floor upon arrival. Immediately upon stepping off the elevator I was smacked with a strong smell of smoke. The whole floor, and as I soon found out, my room, smelled like an ash tray. I immediatly called the desk to ask where my non-smoking was only to be told that they had no more non-smoking rooms available and that one was not guaranteed through hotels.com. I was also told that their sister property next door was sold out, so there was nothing that they could do. I refused to accept that and returned to the desk with my luggage to check out. Only then did the desk clerk say she contacted her manager who "shifted some reservations around" and miraculously found me a non-smoking room. So beware of promises for room options!

Very comfortablePosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: convenience & price
Cons: hot water in the shower was extremely hot at first, then cooled too quickly to much-too-cool-for-a-comfortable-shower temperature
Location: Close to Wake Forest University and downtown Winston-Salem.
Hotel staff was extremely courteous and accommodating! The hotel was convenient and easy to find, clean, well-maintained, and inexpensive.

Perfectly Satisfactory Overnight StopPosted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The title says it all. All one wants is a clean room, at reasonable price, a staff that acts like they are glad you stayed at their facility. A passable breakfast is a plus. This facility covers all of these. I'd stay again, get a good night's sleep, and use the money saved on something extra at our ultimate destination.

Rooms were small, but clean. Need was lumpy in appearance. Guest services was exceptional! My many requests were featured with no problem! Convenient to shopping and business location. My stay was enjoyable.

Pros: Clean rooms.
Cons: Breakfast was lacking. Not really much to choose from.
Location: Outback steakhouse right next door. Other restaurants close by
We were there at the end of May, 2014 for a train show in Spencer. The hotel was located in nice location and was in good shape. The rooms were nice and the AC worked GREAT. It was a little noisy but around 11 it quieted down. There are a lot of run-down hotels in the area but this place seems to be kept up. For the price we paid (I had to get three rooms at about $65 a night) it was worth it. I would stay there again. The pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to use it. Plenty of places to eat at close by

One of my favorite places to stay on the road.Posted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
Perfect for an overnight stay! Have to keep in mind that there's no microwave or fridge. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Outback Steakhouse is literally right behind the hotel.
