“Boutique hotel”

The Brookstown Inn is a converted textile mill and on numerous stays I had rooms in different sizes but all pleasantly appointed. The staff is friendly and helpful

“A Step Back in Time”

What a great find... We were looking for a place to stay for a few days for sight seeing of Mt. Airy and the surrounding area. We found the Brookstown by searching Expedia for a deal and what a deal we found. The Brookstown was like stepping back in time. The staff was freindly and helpful with all our questions. The rooms were very large and had exposed beams and bricks from the cotton mill. There is a nice courtyard to sit and relax in the mornings and evenings.

“Best Value for Downtown Winston-Salem”

Best value in Winston-Salem downtown through Expedia! It's just a 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown convention center, or a $3 cab ride. Staff is very professional, courteous, and helpful. Hotel has great homey atmosphere. It has a very nice courtyard with lots of trees lush landscapeing. Very quiet. Stay includes a free, nice continental breakfast. There a a great gourmet bakery just down the street called Ollie's if you want something more than the continental breakfast provided by the Inn. There also is one of the best restaurants in town just a couple of blooks away in an old railroad wharehouse called Willows. The food and service is excellent! Other attendees who stayed at the highrise chain hotels downtown complained of slow elevators and that rooms on the upper floors were too hot! If you don't like highrise chain hotels, then Brookstown Inn is the place to stay and save several hundred dollars over a brand name hotel on a week long stay. I highly recommend Brookstown Inn for your next stay in Winston-Salem!

“Will be back!”

We had a wonderful stay at the Brookstown Inn. The whole experience was very charming, from the historic rooms to the milk and cookies at bedtime. My husband and I stayed for two nights, but the first night we had an unexpected guest. A cricket ALL NIGHT LONG! We talked to the front desk attendant and was told all other rooms were currently booked. A few minutes later we recieved a call that a room had just opened up and as soon as it was cleaned we would be moved. We originally booked a Queen size room (which was wonderful other than the cricket), but when we were reassigned we were given a King Suite! It was an awesome upgrade, for no additional charge. We were in Winston for a wedding, but we will be going back and staying at the Brookstown Inn just for a nice visit and shopping.

“Extremely satisfied!”

From the moment I checked in I could tell this was a well ran establishment. The check- in clerk was friendly and knowledgeable (almost felt like she owned the place). The staff pointed out where everything was located, including where the breakfast would be served the next morning. She recommended items on the menu at the Cotton Mill (the on-site restaurant), and I must say they offer great tasting fares for reasonable prices. This place was a Textile Mill in the 1800’s. I had a drink at the on-site bar and again the staff was very friendly and made the guests feel comfortable being there. This was my first stay at this hotel, and I was extremely satisfied with the entire experience. I will recommend this place to anyone who may be traveling to the area. Again I commend the staff for delivering outstanding service, and to the management for knowing how to hire the right people for the positions they hold.

“Come to the Brookstown Inn - even if you do not have to be in Winston Salem”

This was my second stay in the Brookstown Inn. The rooms have a mixture of history but completely modern amenities. Tie with it a wonderful restaurant (the Cotton Mill) and lots of things to do near the Hotel (we discovered Ollie's bakery down the street and of course Old Salem). And this is a wonderful place to stay.

Great hotel, good service, clean rooms, and very neat to stay in an a historic site. Also, the hotel has a restaurant called the Cotton Mill, which has excellent food!

“Charming”

The hotel is unique, cozy and comfortable. Rooms are large and bathrooms are clean and spacious. The placement of the TV is a little awkward - far from the bed or the chairs - and high up in the cabinet - the lighting was a bit dim for reading or computer work, but overall the stay at Brookstown was charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great alternative to chain hotels in the area.
