Great Historic Hotel

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: I loved the idea that they took a factory and made it into a Hotel. The high ceilings and brick walls were great to look at, the place was just cool!
Location: It was great to be so close to Old Salem and to be able to walk on the nice pathway that was by the road to get to it.
The Brookstown Inn has become my favorite Hotel of all time. We had the Junior Suite and loved the tall bed and the downstairs lounging area. I only wish we had another reason to visit Winston-Salem again as that would be the place we would stay. We live on the west coast so probably won't make it back. But the Brookstone Inn is my Favorite Hotel! Stay there you won't be disappointed! Loved it!

Potential for great boutique hotel is wasted.

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Everything but the disrespectful familiarity of some staff and the unnecessarily noisy kitchen and breakfast room staff.
Cons: The staff should know guests seek a pleasant stay and to be treated as valued customers. The don't seek new friends among the staff.
Location: Located in the historic part of Winston-Salem there are numerous opportunities to enjoy the arts and history normally associated with a larger city.
I really like the hotel, but not the disregard of customer experience by the kitchen and dining room staff and they loudly laugh and chit-chat. The gentleman handling the wine hour and "cookies & milk" hour was efficient, courteous and friendly without assuming familiarity. This could be a superb small hotel, but due to lack of staff training, or management knowledge, it is more in a class with a very clean and comfortable lower class hotel. Rooms and baths were exceptionally clean. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. The TV was adequate, but poorly placed. I would stay here again, and recommend it to friends, but with lower expectations than there should be.

Brookstown Inn - July 2014

Pros: The history and charm are plentiful.
The Brookstown Inn is a historic, comfortable inn with loads of charm. The staff was helpful, the Innkeeper very friendly and Sally the cat was content in the courtyard.

The staff was the best part of our stay. The rooms were pretty, with just a few cleaning issues. Great location.

The bed and TV cabinet,

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: Other than what I mention above, all else was great. I have stayed there before and will stay again but not in room 158.
If I had been a little larger, I would not have been able to get between the bed and TV cabinet to get to the bathroom. The sofa was not good to sit on. Room 158, will not stay in it again unless changes are made.

Great hotel. Rooms were very large. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was extra clean and large. Wine and cheese hour and cookie and milk hour were great bonuses! Walking distance to great restaurants.

We were so pleased with the Historic Brookstown Inn. It was beautiful and the complimentary wine and cheese for the adults and the cookies and milk for the kids was such a treat!

Lovely Hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: I liked staying in a historic building which is in a convenient location. Also free parking is simple.
Cons: The addition of a pool
Location: The location if excellent for those who like to be near attraction and for those who like to walk.
The hotel is charming and the rooms are very large. The staff was gracious and helpful. The free wine and cheese in the evening is a nice touch. The location is very convenient. It is next to the visitor's center and is in walking distance of restaurants and historic Salem.
