Great Hotel with huge rooms.

Neat historic hotel with a great staff. This sure beats staying at one of the chain hotels.

A Great Night

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: We especially liked the historic atmosphere along with the comfort and furnishings.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast was disappointing. There were no hot choices such as waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs.
Location: We didn't stay long enough to find out.
We had never been in Winston-Salem. We would like very much to return sometime, particularly for another stay at the Historic Brookstown Inn. The inn is unique, unlike the usual sterile, unimaginative motels we typically find at highway exits. We were thrilled with the design, comfort and furnishings.

Easy access in Winston Salem

Posted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Decor - Old Salem charm. It was very quiet and conveniently located. The price was right and came with parking, free wifi, and continental breakfast.
Cons: Extra lock on room door needs to be updated. Old slide chain is outdated, unsecure type lock. Bathroom door didn't lock.
Location: Convenient to downtown with Old Salem right next door. Easy access on/off I-40.
Stayed in town for business, but had a great night at the Inn. So many little extras: chocolates on bed, wine/cheese, cookies/milk, free wifi, free parking, and continental breakfast. My first time at this hotel and I will definitely stay again on my next trip to the area. The room was beautiful - exposed brick, wood floors, period furniture, yet very modern and very clean. The room was spacious with high ceilings, the bathroom up to date, and I never bothered to turn on the television, but it looked new. I slept comfortably (pillows, mattress, a/c). I loved the huge shower head. I will stay again.

Lovely Hotel

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: No improvements worth mentioning.
Location: Located down town near Old Salem, antique and art shops with the visitor center right next door for more ideas.
My husband and I were very pleased with our experience @ The Historic Brookstown Inn. This is a small but very beautiful and very functional hotel. The customer service was excellent as was the hotel staff. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed in our rooms. They even had special time during the day to meet for wine and later at night for warm milk and cookies. I thought that was a very nice touch. Very personal. We intend to visit again later in the year when it's a little warmer.

Very nice hotel -- great rooms!

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: Location, size of room, character of the hotel.
Cons: Individual climate control.
Location: Good location close to town and Old Salem.
We loved our stay at the Brookstown Inn. The only negative was the temperature in the room. The rooms are not individually climate controlled. I like a cool room and it was uncomfortably warm for me. The windows cannot be opened so that left us with no options to get the room cooler. Other than that -- excellent stay!

Lovely historic inn

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Staff, beds, location, free wifi, wine & cheese, milk & cookies, continental breakfast.
Cons: Upholstered furniture in room needs refreshed.
Location: Easy access of 40 Business. Close to Old Salem, UNCSA, downtown.
We stayed for the UNCSA Dance Festival weekend. The inn is conveniently located near UNCSA, Old Salem and downtown. Parking is free and convenient. Staff were very accommodating with late night glasses of milk, staying over to serve that last glass of wine during the wine & cheese reception and a late checkout. Noise traveled through the HVAC ducts and walls, so if you're a light sleeper, that can be an issue. Charming historic inn with comfy beds and updated bathrooms.

Wonderful surprise!

Bed and breakfast feel. Open and spacious rooms. Only 5 minutes from Wake Forrest Baptist Medical Center (the reason we were in the area) and so much better than a regular chain hotel.
