Location: We weren't there long enough to explore. We just drove down to pick something up. Kmart next door came in handy for tools for the trip back, though.
Overall, this was a very nice hotel, especially for the price.

Fabulous, Clean, Comfortable Hotel at a GREAT pricPosted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Updated, CLEAN.
Cons: Free breakfast?
Location: I had to be in Winston-Salem the next morning and it was close.
I loved my stay at this hotel and wish I could have stayed longer. Everything was clean and updated (furniture, bedding, fixtures, decor). The room looked inviting and clean as soon as I stepped in the door. I think this is the fanciest hotel I've stayed in for the price. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for a GREAT experience!

Underrated, understated charm.Posted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Has character.
Cons: Internet. fitness room.
Location: I was on business. So, didn't partake in fun. Food was close.
This is an underrated place. It's not shiny and new, but it has a certain late 20th century charm, which some of us miss. I mean before the time before the rise of plastic-banana hotel chains. It has a kind of a big lodge feel to it, even though it's close to all the shopping and the interstate. It's long, rather than tall - only two floors i think. I appreciated that, after staying at a tall hotell the previous couple of days - didn't have to waste my time on elevators. The room, bedding, furninture were clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and a better than average TV. Would be nice if there was a way to let in some fresh air without running the fan, but i guess on the 1st floor that's hard to facilitate. The internet was slower than it should be in an "event center", but adequate. The fitness room should be at least doubled in size - needs a free-weight rack/bench and a pull-up bar added to the 3 cardio machines. Stayed a couple of nights, and would definitely return, if i am in the area. Reminded me of much better times for us in the US, back in the days...

The hotel might want to consider a hall monitor or asking parents to monitor their children. There were kids running the hallways, doing gymnastics, the splits and yelling until 1 am. The AC in my room also had some kind of problem and made a lot of noise but that can happen anywhere. A nice enough hotel that just needed to do something to cut down ont he wild behavior.

Pros: comfortable bed and quiet air conditioning system

no problems except that breakfast was not included in the price. Buffet breakfast closed at 9:30 on a Saturday...we missed it by 2 minutes!

This hotel has a little age on it but everything was spotless. It was quite and the staff are all happy and great. Nicest bartender we have met in some time. Clean pool as well.
