Very nice hotel in the downtown district.

Hotel was centrally located downtown with plenty of free parking across the street. Extremely nice staff and the rooms were great. Very quiet area of downtown Winston.

First time to Winston Salem

Posted Mar 29, 2014
This is a great hotel in downtown Winston Salem. The Frank Sinatra playing in the lobby gets my approval! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was good, nothing special but definitely a lot of tasty options. The room was modern and clean. For the price I was very satisfied and the location was perfect for exploring downtown. Parking across the street was slightly annoying but it was free and I felt my car was safer than on the street. The fire alarm did go off around 7am twice and the fire truck came but there didn't seem to be any fire. My only criticism was the fitness center; 4 cardio machines but only 2 ellipticals worked (bike and treadmill didn't). I still got a workout in and was thankful for that. I'd stay here again if I'm ever back in town!

It looks nice, but...

Posted Mar 21, 2014
My first night there was tainted by the fact that my next door neighbors had a raging party until 2am. Luckily, at that point, the front desk had a room for me to move to. The new room was fine and quiet and I could sleep! Hooray! But I had wished the hotel stopped the party earlier. Breakfast at this hotel- good thing it's free. Not great options if you have food restrictions like no wheat or sugar... Details like draino-ing the tub, making sure the blow-drier is safe to use (it sucked in my hair and blew a fuse), and keeping the guests under control would have made my stay better.

decent place to stay

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Cons: Carpets need replacing. Bell hop, valet parking & more hot shower water needed. Coffee wasn't that great and the evening coffee was cold.
The first night I was there, the a/c kept knocking and humming so it kept me up most of the night.

clean and quite hotel

Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: quiet
Cons: easier access to parking and entry to hotel from parking deck
Location: close to coliseum which was purpose of our visit
parking deck is across the street-felt uneasy about this at first but all seemed ok. No restaurant or lounge in hotel but did serve free breakfast.

Great location, friendly staff

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: cleanliness, staff, location, parking lot - free parking
Cons: decorate room
Location: Right by Old Salem, downtown location, business area. Not sure what it would be like during the week, we were there on the weekend. Quiet, safe area.
Great hotel. Close to Old Salem, downtown. About 8-9 minutes from Wake Forest University campus- very easy to get to. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was big ( I think it must have been a suite, converted to a King room) The only weird thing was there was no decoration on the walls. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Breakfast was standard continental type, nothing special. Would definitely stay here again.

Room too small, nice bathroom though!

It was just okay. We do not like 2 queen beds in a small room.
