Broke down motel
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: Close to winter park
Cons: nothing worked
Location: good
The beds were comfortable, but nothing else worked. One of the hot tubs, the sauna and the ice machine did not work. There was a sign for the game room and fitness room. Neither existed.

Location is great is you are skiing but hotel is older and run down. The beds are horrible and walls are paper thin so any conversation in the hall might as well have been going on in your room. Staff was disinterested and aloof. I would not stay again.

This hotel has everything you need!
Posted Jan 1, 2013
Pros: Comfortable bed, sauna and hot tub are all my needs after a day of skiing.
Cons: Pool and hot tub would need a coat of paint.
Location: It is diverted from the village with a highway, but the bus comes every 20 min to go to the village, incl. lifts.... From 7.00 am until 11.00pm
The room was spacious, clean, airy, ok for a family of 4. Breakfast buffee was ok, bar as well, the pool, sauna and hot tubs were usefull but not beautifull in therms of today 'spa's', but with an incredible view of the mountains through the glass fassades. Everything in the hotel, from ski shop to the free bus ride to the ski lift and garages were convenient, the staff friendly and helpful. I would book this hotel again.

Great place to stay!

Pros: Bar & Staff
Cons: None
Location: Great Location!
Unlike recent reviews, the hotel staff were extremely pleasant and cheerful. Though outdated amenities for the price an excellent ski lodge. We loved the restaurant and bar staff! If your looking for a place to lay your head while skiing a great mountain this place is perfect. If you're expecting a haughty high class ski lodge then you will be disappointed, but if you're expecting a decent place to lay your head after a full day of skiing then this place will suit you fine.

Good view, good times

Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Dirty hot tub
The hotel is a great place for anyone that does not have too high of expectations. It feels like a home away from home. It's not emaculate and pristine condition but it feels lived in. Majority of other reviews complain about the carpets being dirty or lumpy; but noone ever stops to think about the thousands of people coming in and out with snowy/muddy ski boots and how hard it is on the place during the ski season. The hotel has a awesome view of the ski base so you can see if the lines are long. There is a onsite bar and restaurant after a long day of snow bound fun. Admittedly the pool is a touch cool and when we were there only one hot tub worked so the water became murky quick with the large amount of people trying to soak their aches away. Night life in any ski town is nothing like the movies, so do not expect too many wild ragers after 4 pm. If you went out skiing like you came to do, then you should be too tired to go out.

Cold nights in a perfect location.
Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: Location-across the road from the ski resort and beautiful forest views.
Cons: cold room
Location: Great location, just outside of Winter Park Colorado, across the road from Winter Park Ski Resort.
Nice employees. The room was cold. It seem liked the wall unit was not large enough for the size of the room. We set the unit at 90, although it felt more like 55-60. The room never got warm. I called the front desk about this twice. The first time a service guy came up, the second time they sent up a small space heater. The breakfast buffet is not worth the money. Don't bother. I must say the direct staff are all very nice, although there is obviously something wrong at a higher level.
