Grungy bathroom!Posted Apr 10, 2013
Pros: Desk clerk
Cons: Curly little hairs in tub and bathroom floor
Location: Main drag
Don't know whether to say we were "disappointed" in this hotel, because so many others had reviewed about the cleanliness. We stayed there because there weren't any other choices last weekend. The rooms themselves were reasonably updated, but the hallways smelled of smoke and seemed to have a very "80's" decor. The front desk staff was very apologetic when I told them my 11 year old didn't want to bathe because of the crop of little curly hairs (!) lining the shower, and she saw to it that the cleaning staff did a much better job the second night. Still-- when I pay a premium price for the "Presidential Suite" (really?!?!)-- I would expect money back for a grungy bathroom. I'd definitely stay somewhere else if I had a choice.

Funny order in rooms. First room had a clogged toilet. Second room everything worked but bathroom smelled funny.

If the price is right, there are worse places to stayPosted Oct 5, 2011
Hotel was undergoing some work, having a new elevator installed. Stairs could have been cleaned a bit better. Room was small but couldn't expect much more for the money.

The hotel has recently been renovated and there were still holes in the walls at plumbing areas. The water pressure is so low in the shower that it took over 20 minutes to get any soap off of yourself. Two different times I killed two roaches in the bathroom and was afraid to tell my wife as she would have checked out immediately and there were no other rooms available at the time. I would have left this hotel immediately but I could not until I found another hotel available in the area. I would not even recommend this hotel to my enemies!

no decent midrange hotels in Greenville, NC?Posted Apr 1, 2011
Much better bed than Baymont Inn. However, Carpet needs replacing and bathroom door did not shut. Location was good for my needs.

We had a problem with the A/C unit which cased the Smoke Detector in our room to go off. We called the front desk--they asked if we wanted someone to come to our room--of course we did! Fifteen minutes later--still no one came. When the did, they appologied as there was a shift change. When we checked out--the problem had not been logged at the desk as a concern. We'll skip this one next time--I've got two more years of visits.

Pictures do not tell the storyPosted May 18, 2010 on Hotels.com
Cleanliness was the biggest issue. There was an abundance of dust bunnies along the carpet edges, dead bugs on the air conditioner, the bathroom mirror had not been cleaned. The tub surround looked like it could have used some bleach. You wonder what else had not been cleaned. The staff was lackadasial. I haven't been able to find a decent priced hotel that looked clean.I am so disappointed.

We were there for the graduation at East Carolina. The staff was friendly and helpful. It appears this is a building that is being updated and the wear was beginning to show. We had a handicapped member in the party (Grandma) and were put in a second floor room in a building with no elevator. The staff made a comment about "its just a few steps". This turned out to be three flights of seven steps. The pool was not open even though the temps were in the 90s. Breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel but I thought it was overpriced for what it was.
