Best Western Potomac Mills

I am 74 years old and my daughter is 51 and the hotel put a $200 dollar guarantee on my card in case we wrecked the room. I was outraged at this but had no altenative. i insisted on the room being inspected in my presence on leaving to prove we had not wrecked the room. I have stayed in several motels in the USA including other Best Westerns and never encountered this before. I am very annoyed about this.

I seen the disclaimer by Expedia but I did not realize this hotel would require a $200 deposit in addition to what I already paid through Expedia. They said it would take 2-3 days to be refunded back to my card....horrible position to be in at the last minute

This was an awesome hotel. I would stay again and again. Rates were reasonable, staff were very friendly. Even got a message from the manager making sure everything was ok! The free breakfast was wonderful; it was close to everything I needed. Give it an A+ for sure and I travel alot.

Although our bill was paid in full prior to our arrival, a hold was placed on our credit card for "possible incidentals."

not impressed they charged me 200.00 upon arrival and then credited me when I left.

Nice renovations , pleasant staff, nice rooms for the price. Great location to see the northern Virginia region & DC.

The motel is showing it's age a bit but it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and the best we've ever had. We would definitely stay there again.

OK base if you're in the area - good shopping at the Potomac Mills Mall- 3 mins drive. An hour from DC & Shenandoah

We were treated with respect from the staff-management on down and they were very accommodating. We were greeted with smiles every where we went and felt very comfortable with every one and our surroundings.

Stayed there for two days -- 5/4 & 5/5 of this year. At first the hotel did not have a room with a King size bed, like we paid for. They did come through on that only 15 minutes after our check-in time. The $200 hold on our CC was for basically a damage deposit & will be reimbursed after 2 days. I've seen other users cite this issue & we understand it. Room was very spacey. Large 40" + flat screen LCD TV, two separate sinks, desk for my laptop & free WIFI. Fridge, microwave, iron & ironing board & hair dryer. Room was very clean & smelled good. Two big AC units in our room; we kept it cold ;) Great big full breakfast every morning until 10. Pigged out on waffles, pancakes, bacon, fried potatoes & apple juice each morning. Also had packaged pastries & guests were allowed to take a few after eating. Also some fresh pastries, yogurt, bagels, cereal & many different kinds of coffee. The only issue we had was the room entrance light: it was motion-activated & would come on at the slightest flinch of anything. We suggested they take out that switch & put a traditional light switch. 1.25 miles to Potomac Mills Outlet mall. Massive place if you've never been there. Great stay at a good price. Will return if we're ever in the outer DC Metro area again.
