Lovely pub and restaurant with excellent service and surprisingly top notch food. All staff delivering excellent service. Quality of meat and ingredients super. Best breakfast sausage I’ve had in long time and I’m very fussy. Rooms are basic but very clean. Beds good quality. Great value for money. Beautiful area.

Lovely village stay
We stayed one night in the room with the separate adjoining bathroom and exposed beams. The rooms are above a very nice country pub which looks like it has been refurbished recently. The room was clean and lovely and the bathroom was really nice too. Great water pressure, and the bath fills up nice and quick, with the option of a spacious shower also. A minor failing of the layout was the lack of overhead lighting. No big deal, but my girlfriend moved one of the lamps near the mirror to do her makeup. Car park on site had plenty of spaces, and the setting in a very small village is very pretty. Full marks to the food. Reading the menu, you might expect some standard pub grub to come, but the presentation and quality of the food here was exceptional. Whitebait where the nicest I've ever had, and my girlfriend's sea bass was also superbly seasoned and presented. I had the steak and ale pie, which doesn't sound exciting, but the again the presentation and the quality and generosity of the meat made this an exceptional take on a traditional dish. Great dessert too. All in all a very pleasant stay, which we would happily repeat.

Lovely hotel but found the staff quite unhelpful on arrival. Assumed we knew where are room was located, in the annex, left my wife to carry bags while I had to find a parking space…very few at the hotel itself

Great stay. Disappointing breakfast
Great hotel with very attentive staff. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are so comfortable. Only down fall with our latest stay is the portion size for the breakfast has changed dramatically. The slice of black pudding I had was not much bigger than a ten pence piece & the whole breakfast looked lost on the size of the plate. The manor has been our hotel of choice for a while when visiting our grandchildren & I hope the breakfast can go back to how it was a few months ago.
