Lenchford Inn

Pros: welcoming staff ,location and good bar
Cons: bedrooms are dated but spotlessly clean and functional
Location: right on the river - perfect!
This was a quick overnight stop for us on a long journey south and we woud certainly stop again and try and stay longer to explore what looks like a lovely area. The staff were warm and welcoming and the bar is used by locals so there was a cheery atmosphere and excellent beers. The ensuite bedrooms are old fashioned but are spotlessly clean and comfortable, have everything you need and are well heated. We also woke up to a lovely view of the river. We needed somewhere not to far from the motorway - far more enjoyable and much better value than the usual motorway inns.

In need of updating

Posted Apr 18, 2011
We used this hotel as it was the closest place to our wedding venue, The Curradine Barns. Although the staff were friendly and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard; the hotel is in need of a real make-over. Other members of our party complained of cold showers, old and tired rooms and very average breakfasts, that can't really be classed as a "full English"! Given the price per room, everyone felt this was way too high for the comfort and age of the hotel. We feel that either prices should be reduced by 50%, or that the quality of rooms and food needs a major overhall to reflect the price, especially when you consider a cheap Travelodge is only 15 mins away. If you are getting married at the Barns, it's a useful location; just don't expect much for your money!!!! I certainly wouldn't get married here!!!
