“Just book it; it's more than great.”

A review is easy to write here. The Crowne Plaza Paragon Xiamen is a 5 star hotel which does what is says on the tin. And a bit more. A superb hotel in a location central to almost everything. The expansive public areas delightful and impressive, well serviced with boutique shops and restaurants (clearly a hand selected few). The rooms are luxurious and well designed. I suspect that an enormous amount of effort has gone into making sure the details are just right. The bed softness is just right. The weight and fabric of the duvet (comforter / doona) is just right. The lighting is just right. The temperature is just right. The overall design features are just right. And the staff aren't just diligently professional, they are convincingly genuine in their care to make sure you are OK and well looked after. The height of the bar and the value-for-money offered by the Crowne Plaza Paragon Xiamen, surely must be envied by other hoteliers. It is a 5 star hotel, but it is only marginally more expensive than far lesser hotels. If you are hand-wringing over your decision, I suggest you just book it and know that you will be delighted with your decision, because that is what happened to me.

“A good value for the Singapore market.”

This is a clean hotel with good amentities. The room was clean except for the bathroom which has some mold in the bathtub(I have had this in 5 star Marriott Hotel before). The rest of the room was clean. Maintenance of 1 elevator slowed service but I assume that this was only temporary. The hotel is located close to a number of malls and restaurants. A good value for the Singapore market during the airshow when many hotels were sold out.

“Be prepared.”

Remember to have to bring 1 passport for each room reserved. Staff was not helpful in explaining on why that is the case. I had reserved 2 rooms under 1 name, and they gave me a hard time, demanding I produce 2 passports to register (1 for each room). Internet is going to cost an arm and a leg. Very clean hotel, good location, however, getting a Taxi is not very easy.
