“Great location, very nice staff”

I stayed in Citadines Xi' An Central for 3 nights in October 2011. The hotel is centrally located and is in walking distance to Bell Tower and Muslem neighborhood. Muslem street and the Great Mosque are "Must-See" places in Xi' An and the food stands are great places to eat good food. There are free computers with internet in the lobby. They have very nice breakfast (both Chinese and Western) in a Singapourian restaurant adjacent to the hotel. I had read some negative comments about the breakfast from some of the travelers and so was skeptical. It was proven to not be true, though. The staff in Citadines are very friendly and go out of their way to help you with anything, to call a cab for you and show you how to get to places. They even let me check out 2.5 hours late. The bell boy guys are very nice and sweet. One of them even helped me packing my luggage when I was late for checking out and going to the airport. For going to Terracotta Warriors hotel arranged me a private driver named George who was an extremely nice guy. He spent the whole day taking me to 2 other places as well, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and BanPo museum. I definitely recommend him.

“Good choice, not the highest standard, but great location”

The carpet in the room has stains and the bed is hard (like all Chinese beds are). I stayed in a studio - the room does not feel welcoming at all ,but the price is great. Did not try the bfast. The front desk staff is not friendly, but again, the price is good. Location is great, just a quick walk to the Drum tower and Muslim quarter. The other good choice there is the Bell Tower Hotel, a Chinese option. Have stayed there as well, and it was ok too for a little higher price.

“Good value at a great location”

This hotel represents a good value in this popular tourist city. The location is central to popular attractions such as Bell Tower, Drum tower and the Muslim quarter. There are plenty of eateries and shopping near by. I like the fact that it's only 500m from the airport shuttle. The room was very clean and comfortable. Of course the bed was a little hard. But I had expected this because it's basically the same with most other hotels in China. English skills of the staff is a little lacking. But for basic communication, it's adequate. For some reason, the breakfast is included only for 1 person. But I only ate there once out of three days because it was pretty much horrible. You can get much better local food nearby. I would definitely stay here again when I go back to Xian to explore/hike Huashan Mountain next year.

“Great location!”

A great studio in a fantastic position! The studio has a good sized bathroom with bath over the shower, functional kitchenette, office desk with internet access & a semi combined bedroom & "lounge" area with a TV & DVD player that can be moved along the wall between the two areas. There is also a self-serve laundry which is perfect when you are travelling for an extended period, with limited clothing. I would definitely stay here next time we are in Xian.

The Drum & the Bell tower are a 5-minute walk away from Citadines. They look even more amazing at night when it is lit up. Must see tourist attractions are the Terra-cotta warriors & horses, the Banpo Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Walk on top of the City wall plus many more.

“Very spacious and comfortable”

Hotel 1 bedroom was very large with fully furnished kitchen and large sunny windows. Other than a few stains on the carpet, very clean and comfortable. Before hand the marketing person helped us set up an excellent private tour of the terra cotta warriors and they even picked us up at the train station as part of the tour. Only problem was 2 incidents of poor information from front desk, however they were very helpful arranging taxis and holding our bags after checkout. Good location for walking to many sights. Would definitely stay there again.

“Good mid-priced hotel in convenient location”

The Citadines is definitely nicer than your typical Chinese hotel but is comparable to perhaps a 3-star hotel in the States. The room was clean and the hot water was available instantly. There's an ethernet cable for free internet and a fair number of TV channels. The best part is its location. It's conveniently located near the airport shuttle bus line 1 and within a 10 minute walk to the Drum and Bell Towers, Muslim Street, McDonalds and Starbucks.

“Good value”

This is not a luxury hotel, but it is clean and well-equipped. Each room includes a ktchenette with the bare necessities for cooking or eating a meal. There are many places where you can pick up a meal in the neighborhood, then bring it back, reheat it and enjoy your meal in the comfort of your own room. The location is particularly convenient if you are interested in experiencing "old" Xi'an. It is a very short walk to the Bell and Drum Towers, and only a bit farther to the Muslim section of town. It is a bit more of a hike to the city walls and the "Forest of Steles" but still perfectly do-able. I found the staff very friendly and helpful and overall was completely pleased with my experience.

“well located!”

This hotel is withing walking distance to the Drum Tower, Muslim Quarter, and Bell Tower. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. It's also very close (a block or 2) to the airport shuttle bus stop. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant next door (accessible from the hotel lobby) was expensive compared to street food or other nearby restaurants, but very convenient.
