Phu Yen is crisscrossed with fabulous things to see and do, from firmly-established, must-see spots to hidden gems that lay slightly off the beaten path. If you're looking for other places to check out, you'll find Tuy Hoa, 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north, and Van Ninh 55 miles (89 kilometers) to the north.
Get some transportation spend some time in Quy Nhon, a major city for the region, located approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) away from Xuan Canh. This regional center has a range of visitor attractions, such as Qui Nhon Stadium, Thap Doi Cham Towers and Duong Long Tower. Quang Trung Museum, Long Khanh Pagoda and Ham Ho Tourist Spot are just a sample of the many other interesting visitor attractions that await.
Knowing a few common Vietnamese words and phrases can make the difference between a run-of-the-mill vacation and a journey into the very heart of Phu Yen. "Không có gì" ("You're welcome") is handy. And also "Ông từ đâu đến?", which translates as "Where are you from?"
Much of the region acknowledges Independence Day on the 2nd of September, so be prepared for changes to opening hours and transport schedules.
