Adequate

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Easily accessed, plenty of parking
Cons: Facilities maintenance
Location: Central to Union Gap and close to the freeway. I don't care about things to do, I just want a safe, clean, well-maintained room to stay the night.
When I showed up late and tired, I found two of four lights not working and same with bathroom fan. Fiddled with the lights, found a loose bulb on one and a loose plug in the wall on the other, but no bathroom fan. I would stay there again, but with reduced expectations.

Ugh

Posted Aug 10, 2014
One of those hotels you that elicits a groan upon entering your room. You're not expecting much, but you'd prefer a non smelly room and pillows with any amount of support. Basically, they are nice and everything but it's fairly gross and should never be priced above 75 until they update things.

Nice location, right across from Se Galley

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Nice location, friendly and accommodating staff
Location: Rooms could be updated a bit.
This was our second visit to the Super 8 in the past month. First visit was great, this visit was not so great. First room we stayed in had poor Wi-Fi reception, and then we started getting bizarre prank calls. The front desk switched us to a different room, that had much improved Wi-Fi and we unplugged the phone.

Super 8 Very disappointing

Posted Jul 9, 2014
I booked a room over in Yakima, WA at the Super 8, my husband and I had stayed there before without any big problems. Its usually pretty average. This time we were really shocked, there were beer cans (empties by the bed and we didn't see them right off, there were dirty tissues in the bathroom. The bedspread I took and threw on the floor just because it looked dirty. The hallways had that old food odor to it. We definitely won't be staying there again..When we checked out I told the clerk all about it and she just looked at me blankly and said she'd have to look and see which person had cleaned the room. No apology....no discount;;;no nothing. Stay away from the Yakima Super 8 in the Gap.

Nice Stay

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: nice indoor swimming pool; next to Denny's
all was just fine, but the hallway smelled of smoke, even outside our no smoking room.

Probably OK for smokers

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Easy location by the freeway. Pool area was nice. Budget price.
Cons: Eliminate smoking rooms or isolate them to a single part of the hotel so that do not spread their smell to non-smoking rooms.
Hotel had a very distinct smell of smoke in the hallways and even though our room was non-smoking it smelled strongly of the deoderizers that were presumably needed to cover up the smell from the hallway. We were in the first floor down at the end away from the lobby (smell did improve as you walked back towards the lobby). There were signs on doors in the hallway indicating some as non-smoking but they seemed to be all mixed together so it ends up everywhere. They had signs up that they were doing renovations, hopefully they pull out the carpets and put up some new paint. Overall the hotel was in reasonable condition and our room was otherwise clean. Pool area was nice enough, the breakfast options are on the slim side. Other than the smoke smell it would be what you'd expect in a Super 8 as a clean budget hotel.

Not horrible, not outstanding.

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The staff is nice and they do have an alright complimentary breakfast. The location seems convenient (once you figure out the traffic circle!).
Cons: Bedding, for sure, needs improvement! Carpet needs cleaning or replacement. Could have better mattresses and tissue products.
Location: Located right off the highway with a Denny's next to it and several other restaurants and stores nearby.
We've stayed twice here, once in a double, non-smoking room and then in a single, smoking room. The staff was friendly and helpful both times. The rooms appear to be fairly clean with nothing that really stuck out. However, the carpet didn't have an exceptionally "fresh, clean feel" to it. The blankets are absolutely horrible (scratchy, overused, over-washed, rough and unpleasant) and were the same in both rooms that we had, so it's likely they are similar throughout. On our second stay we had a tv that had problems with the volume. It's lowest setting was not quiet at all and would not decrease by the remote or tv buttons. Annoying, but not a big deal (I guess).

Glorified Truck Stop near Freeway

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was okay, but ends promptly at 9am, which was fine, but the staff was a bit pushy about cleaning up and putting everything away.
Cons: New blankets are desperately needed! Hallway cleaning and air fresheners might help too!
This Super 8 is going through some type of renovation, but They currently still have smoking rooms, and the main lobby and hallways smell of stale smoke. I did reserve a non-smoking room, and was given one, on the 3rd floor (no elevators). I arrived late after a day of traveling for work, and did not get a chance to use the small swimming pool, as it closed at 10pm. The room was clean, but the blanket was old, worn, and scratchy. Luckily it was warm, and I did not need it.
