Historic lodge nicely remodeled. View from property is gorgeous. Great place to stop on way to or from Yellowstone or enjoy Shoshone National Forest. Breakfast with a mountain view and great hospitality.

30 Miles from Yellowstone East Entrance.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: We stayed in the Roosevelt room (4 of us), which was a nice large room.
Cons: We loved the place so its hard to come up with something to improve, but it would have been nice to have easy access to the Shashone River.
Location: Not much to do near by except to fish the river, and horse back ride. 20min to Cody (nearest town), and 30min to the East entrance of Yellowstone.
Great Views with great outdoor atmosphere. Owners and staff very friendly.

Wapiti Lodge

Nice place. We were in the Hayden room. It was quite roomy. Very clean, with separate bedroom, kitchen, and bath. The owner was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was decent. Views and nearby drives beautiful. The only things I didn't like were 1) it is right on the highway, and I heard traffic at 4am, and 2) there are only sheers on the windows, making me a little self-conscious. Also, the wifi was really spotty, but this was situational and they were dealing with it. One final thing: middle of nowhere, literally, which is both good and bad, depending on your taste.

Great staff, comfortable room

This is relatively close to Yellowstone. It was very clean. The only negatives is there is a little highway noise but that mostly stops by about 11 PM. The other thing, is that the walls are thin. If you neighbors are noisy that can be a problem. Otherwise, a perfectly suitable place from which to visit the park.

Wapiti Lodge

Location: Yellowstone NP and Cody small but nice little town.
Great staff, clean, fair price and good location- between Cody and Yellowstone entrance. My teenagers (boy and girl) both loved it. The Wapiti Lodge is family friendly.;) The owners also gave us information on horseback riding a mile away at the Ranch creek.

Great place

Great personal attention. Grant room was nicer than the picture; very large, comfortable, and clean. Great location for going to Yellowstone, Cody, or anywhere else nearby. Super quiet at night. Also has a great view of snowcapped mountains. The friendly proprietors made everything so easy, and if you need anything they have a store. It was a great experience.

Fantastic place

Pros: Location, cleanliness, amenities
Cons: N/a
Location: Restaurants and activities in Cody are close, as well as Yellowstone
We really enjoyed our stay at the Wapiti Lodge! The room was comfortably appointed, and clean as a whistle. The views of the river and mountains were beautiful. The ping pong, pool, and horseshoes kept the kiddo entertained. We were close to Yellowstone. The breakfast was great, we lived the fresh hot waffles! Would definitely stay again.

Great spot to stop just outside Yellowstone

Posted Jul 15, 2013
We realized at some point driving through the Bighorns that we were not going to arrive at what we would call a typical check in time, so we called Wapiti Lodge and spoke with one of the owners, who was very accommodating. The lodge is located right on the road to the east entrance of Yellowstone, so if you're looking for someplace a bit removed from the hustle and bustle, this isn't it. However, the room was quiet, and we couldn't hear much traffic even though it was right outside our front door. They've done a beautiful job remodeling and updating the place, with flat screen tv's, comfortable beds, and a handy little kitchenette. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean & friendly

Posted Jun 28, 2013
Pros: Room was big and very clean.
Location: Nothing close, which is one of the things we liked. A short drive to downtown Cody and great restaurant nearby.
Hotel open only 1 year so everything new and clean. Owners were friendly and helpful. Our room was large, with small kitchen area. Bed was very soft - almost too soft, but we were there only one night so it was fine. Hotel is easy to find, right along major road, but our room was in the back and very quiet. Owners recommended restaurant for dinner that was wonderful. Continental breakfast was good, comparable to other hotels.
