It's "Different"Posted Dec 3, 2013
Pros: It's different, it's a tent.
Cons: Pre-visit advice regarding suit case stowage, regulations about what can and cannot be kept in the tent. The reception experience.
Location: We only had one day so we did not stray far from the village.
Our one night stay was in the tent village, recommended to be an exciting and different experience. We arrived tired and late (11pm) due to a 5 hour detour because of recent forest fires. Our check-in was handled poorly. The young receptionists were not very welcoming or informative and appeared to be in a hurry to dispatch us to our tents. We had to do most of the asking in order get the information. The directions to the tents are poor and the way unlit. Luckily we had small torches with us and managed to find our tents. I cannot recall anything telling us that we may need to bring our own torches to get about after dark. However the next day was wonderful we visited all of the many village attractions using the local hop-on hop-off bus, the drivers were very helpful and informative, (they should be in reception). We did not have enough time to wander very far in the short time we had, but what we saw around the village was great.

To be a tent its what should you expect. It needs better towels and cleanness of the room.

Great locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
They managed to put us in the wrong room at first and it took them some time to correct this! Otherwise our stay was ok, the tents are basic and over priced but you are paying for the fantastic location!

For camping - it was GREAT!Posted Oct 28, 2013
We had a heated tent that had beds off the ground. A little rack to hang our clothes from, a safe for valuables. We had lots of warm blankets for the cool nights. I loved the bear proof boxes outside the tent. The bath houses were clean and the staff was realy nice. We were on a budget buster kind of trip and the Curry Tent village did the trick!

Uncomfortable at first, but grows on youPosted Oct 8, 2013
We checked in here when it was completely dark. There's almost no lights so it was very hard to find our way. Especially with so many tents that all look alike. Tent numbers also didn't make much sense. Obviously a tent is not comfortable, but that's something you know in advance. It got terribly cold at night. Taking a shower is no joy either and I hate it when I have to brush my teeth in a place where 4 other dudes are doing number 2 simultaneously. There are no outlets in the tents so everybody went to the lobby in the evening to charge their phone/laptop/camera batteries. Needles to say that they were usually all taken. The same applies to the wifi. There's always a strong signal, but you can't actually use it. It can only handle a hand full of users at the same time when there is probably over a 100 people that want to connect. Despite all this, I have rated it 4 stars. It's not comfortable, it's not clean, but for a tent, it kinda was. And as we started to find our way, it also started to grow on us. It helps that Yosemite is awesome :)
