Nice hotel, close to Yosemite.

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet. Great staff. Pool, jacuzzi in bath tub, microwave, fridge. Close to Yosemite.Pets allowed.
Cons: GET WIFI!!
Location: Gateway to Yosemite. Need I say more?
There was NO WIFI!! We came to Mariposa for work and had no WIFI in the room. Had to go to the lobby to work. Everything else was fine. Clean room with fireplace, jacuzzi in the room, pool, restaurant on-site. We'll have to stay elsewhere next time we have a job in Mariposa, unless the WIFI is fixed!

Miners Inn

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Picked the Miners Inn at the last minute due to change in vacation plan. Nice motel, walls are a little this so you do hear some noise. Breakfast served its purpose and I would stay there again.

Rude staff, old motel.

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Location: Hour to hour and a quarter to Yosemite.
We stayed here for 4 nights as a base for Yosemite. The room was ok. The bathroom seemed to have an exhaust fan that pushed air back into the room (!?) so everything fogged up. A/C was VERY noisy with rattling parts. Windows provide very little noise insulation. Staff here were surly and unhelpful. ON our first night a large group of 10+ smokers gathered directly under our window (why put smoking bins right outside the rooms?) and were making heaps of noise well after 11pm. When we rang reception they seemed really put out and made a half hearted attempt to move the people on. We complained again and the person at reception tried to blame the bar across the street (which we coudn't hear at all). The room service staff appear to be from a local gang and they saunter about the place as though they own it. It was kind of laughable. We left the 'do not disturb' sign out the whole time (although that didn't stop them on one occasion). The included breakfast was inedible (go to the Happy Burger Diner down the street - it's great). Basically waffles, boiled eggs, doughnuts and coffee out of a machine. Would never stay here again.

I was extremely impressed with the facilities. Very luxurious, clean and nice. The breakfast bar was the very best that I have ever seen.

A very poor hotel

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: The pool is the only acceptable part of the hotel.
Cons: The motel is from a different age. It needs to be completely renewed. The breakfast is very poor.
Location: The hotel is at 30 miles from the Yosemite NP
I cannot recommend this hotel. It was probably adequate thirty years ago but the times have changed.

Good rooms, but breakfast goes fast staff grumpy

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Diner/restaurant on site & room size
Cons: Hairdyer hopeless. Staff grumpy. Breakfast runs out.
Location: Yosemite!
Stayed here for one night before heading into Yosemite. Pleasantly surprised by large size of room and outdoor pool. Hairdyer in our room was hopeless. Staff were the let down here as grumpy on arrival and at breakfast (two different people). Also, we arrived for breakfast about 20 minutes before the end but it was virtually all gone (looked like it had been a good one, even had fresh fruit, so was a shame) - when I ask for more milk (large jug was empty) the lady just dumped a carton down without saying anything - I found this quite rude. Best feature was excellent diner/restaurant on site - wide range of choices of standard fare with friendly staff and including novel toy train that runs around the ceiling. Nice quite place to stay. Wifi worked well.

This place needs help.

Cons: Fix the wifi , renovate the rooms.
We were met by a surly and unhelpful desk clerk. The wifi was not working. When I asked another staff member about the wifi I was told that it had not worked in weeks. My son got locked in the bathroom - the knob was broken. The air conditioning was thunderous and warm. We eventually shut it off.
