Beautiful lodge in beautiful setting

Family loved the arcade, large indoor pool and hottub especially but the paper thin walls in the rooms allowed little sleep :(

Best Place to Stay in Yosemite!!!

Posted Dec 18, 2014
I took my daughter to the Tenaya for a surprise 9th birthday trip and it was the best experience ever! The friendly staff even sent her a basket of goodies with sparkling cider and a birthday card. The cabin was perfect and we enjoyed swimming indoors in a heated pool, ice skating and dining onsite. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location!

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: Beautiful, rustic lodge with exceptional staff! Loved the thermostatically controlled fireplaces!
Cons: Mattresses all uncomfortable, floors sqeak, and need to be able to turn off motion detector lights at night.
Location: Perfect gateway to Yosemite, and not too far to Oakhurst for a meal at the South Gate Brewing Company. Park Service is closing the Mangrove redwoods.
Cottages are lovely, nicely spaced for that forest feel, and a convenient walk from the lodge. The Christmas tree and decorations throughout were outstanding, and the breakfast buffet was very good. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace at the lobby entrance as a spot to warm up during our walks

Nice hotel just outside south entrance to Yosemite

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: I appreciated the healthier dining options in addition to the basics. Breakfast buffet was also quite generous, although seemed messy and unkempt.
Cons: Staff friendliness in restaurants!
Location: Located just outside of south entrance to Yosemite National Park. Once inside the park Mariposa Grove with giant Sequoia Trees is very close.
The location of Tenaya Lodge is ideal for visitors to Yosemite traveling from the south (LA direction). It is just outside the south entrance to the park and near Mariposa Grove which is a must do (giant Sequoias). The facilities are ok. Large hotel, overall impression is it a bit messy and all over the place. Rooms are ok, just what I expected I guess. Clean though. The restaurants serve healthier choices in addition to the mandatory burgers and pizzas and have ecological ideals as well. Reception was friendly and helpful but restaurant staff seems exhausted and overwhelmed, even annoyed. Getting a table at either restaurant took 30 min at any time in the evening (over Thanksgiving break). Spa facilities were ok. My son was not allowed in the sauna because he was under 18, which we found rather hilarious. Staff in souvenir shop was very friendly as was concierge.

Great fall vacation.

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Many amenities.
Cons: 0
Location: Sad train nearby had closed for season, but enjoyed Yosemite 1 1/2 hrs. away.
Little traffic. Good weather. Fewer people.Preferred the inside lodge vs cottage for convenience.
