Amazing Getaway!!!Posted Mar 3, 2014
My girlfriend and I took the weekend to ourselves and went to the Pines Resort. We had never been and WOW what a neat place! The rooms are nice and clean (a little outdated but awesome nonetheless) and the chalets are awesome! There was a 60th bday party while we were there and it's a great place for a wedding!!! To sum it up, We are already planning our next stay!

Friendly staff and great locationPosted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: Minor maintenance had not been performed. The toilet ran and the lock to the sliding door was broken and unsafe.
I have stayed at this hotel before. It's nice, but a little rustic. I would stay here again. It's close by and reasonably priced.

Had a Great Time Over ThanksgivingPosted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Charming room with great amenities; close to Yosemite National Park; Excellent restaurant; Beautiful setting
Cons: Carpets are showing their age, but they were very clean. This was not bothersome, though.
Location: Located on Bass Lake, about 45 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, you have access to the South end of the park and to lake.
Our family of four decided to celebrate Thanksgiving at Yosemite National Park, but could not get a room for a reasonable rate in the park. We discovered The Pines at Bass Lake through Expedia.com and couldn't have been more pleased. The value was excellent, the resort was beautiful and the room (a suite) was very nice. While the carpets showed signs of wear, everything was very clean and there were no stains. The room was spacious, had more amenities than I expected to find, including a wet bar and a wood-burning fireplace. The bed mattress was fairly hard; similar to what you find in various time share units. The good news is that the mattress didn't sag either. All in all, a very good value and a wonderful time. We will likely return to this resort for future trips.

Pros: Location, lakeview.
I read both negative and positive reviews before I booked, it turned out to quite good. It's a two story chalet with two queen beds downstairs, a couch and a fold-away bed upstairs which can easily sleep 6. Two TVs, one flat screen up, one old down. Warm and comfortable. This is a rustic cabin, never expect five-star luxury. I guess those who made negative remarks about it expected too much. Sure it's old but it does provide a warm and comfortable stay for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Great stayPosted Nov 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
I read the other reviews about how old dirty and noisy it's was and I have to say I did not see any of it. Yes the rooms are old but that was the charm. the bathroom kitchen and beds were very clean. So quiet it felt like a scary movie (good thing) at night but wonderful in the morning. Loved it

The great outdoorsPosted Oct 31, 2013
As we pulled up to pines resort we couldn't help but feel that we were in an 80s madcap camp movie and sure enough we found out the great outdoors was filmed here in 1987. I doubt it has been updated since then but it's all part of the charm. Staff was great, helpful and friendly. The proximity to the yosemite national park is a huge plus and the food at the upstairs bar at Ducey's was quite good pub fare. Ending our day of hiking with a crackling fire in our chalet was dreamy.

Clean, low-cost rustic hotel in the woodsPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Clean, cheap and great service
Cons: Fittings could be updated
Location: On the hill facing Bass Lake, chalet surrounded by trees. Many hiking trails around the lake and up in the mountains near the south entrance to Yosemi
The chalet was clean and functional if somewhat outdated and rustic. Towels and linen were sparkling white and gave a sense of cleanliness. Service was friendly and prompt - a broken light switch was fixed right away, hiking directions were patiently explained and the restaurant was surprisingly (for such a remote area) upscale and good. Restaurant staff was also very friendly and service was good. Would recommend Pines resort to anyone who wants to get away from the bustle of the city for a reasonable price.
